Reviving this old thread as this is I think I have a clogged duct and am 29 weeks pregnant with my second child. Since I breastfed my daughter I'm pretty sure it is a clogged duct, but is there anything else I can do besides warm compress / massage?

definitely ask your OB at your next visit... In the interim, here's my two cents... what helped me with clogged ducts was making a really warm compress with an old sock filled with uncooked rice... pop it in the microwave til warm and stick it in your bra where the clog is. This type of compress retains warmth longer than a washcloth and you don't deal with getting wet, etc...

Honestly I think I had one and didn't know it during pregnancy. I had a bit of tenderness when I touched one spot but didn't think much of it. And then when I started nursing that spot got a bit more tender. I've had it a couple times and it takes a couple days of massage, hot showers, and I heat up a wash cloth and and hold it on there while I'm doing something else.

Hot compresses in combination w/massage always worked best for me, in combination with nursing the clog out (which is obviously not an option for you yet!)

Has anyone ever experienced a clogged milk duct while pregnant?

Today I felt a pea-sized lump in my breast that wasn't there before. I had a breast ultrasound a couple of weeks ago to follow-up on a cyst and everything was clear for both breasts.

During my breastfeeding class the lactation consultant had a model breast and had us feel the example of a clogged milk duct--mine feels just like this. I didn't think it was possible to get before your milk came in, but according to Dr. Google it is.

I've been massaging it, but what else can I do? I'm planning on breastfeeding and want to make sure this is unclogged before my milk comes in.
