1. Were you on clomid (dose?)
The first month I was on 50mg of clomid for 5 days, starting on CD3. I didn't even ovulate! Second month I was on 100mg clomid for 10 days, starting on cd3.

2. Follicle size and how many?
I had 3 mature follies, if I remember correctly. One was 22mm, another was 18mm and the last was almost there.

3. What cycle day was the ultrasound?
I went on CD14. I hadn't ovulated yet (I did on CD 17) and went in for an ultrasound early because of pain. They wanted to rule over overstimulation.

4. Better news than the month prior?
Yup! I didn't ovulate the precious month. I ovulated on cd17 and went for bloodwork a week later, and my progesterone was at a good level! I tested on CD28 and got a positive test! Now I have an almost two year old.

@sarac I'm also very interested in responses. I'm on my 4th unmonitored cycles of femara. I have blood drawn on cd 21 but that's it.
I'm Planning to get a referral to an RE after this last round and hopefully they'll monitor.

@sarac: From what I've observed OBs do non-monitored, REs do monitored. With my RE I went in around day 10, then back every few days to check progress, until I had a follicle big enough and then triggered. No CD21 check.

IMO you're WAY better off being monitored. I didn't respond very well to Clomid and if I'd been unmonitored I never would have known.

@sarac: I had (4) non monitored cycles about 1 yr ago on clomid w/ my OBGYN......My RE is against it because even if you get an LH surge or Ovuate you don't know if the clomid is making your lining weak (which is a side effect) which can make an egg not implant or stick

He suggests an u/s CD 12 to check eggs and UL and a 21 day progesterone blood test to confirm ovulation.

I am so interested to see the responses. Am I unusual in having had non-ultrasound monitored clomid cycles?

Hello!

What did your follicles look like at your mid-cycle ultrasound?

1. Were you on clomid (dose?)
2. Follicle size and how many?
3. What cycle day was the ultrasound?
4. Better news than the month prior?

I just had my mid-cycle yesterday. I am on 50mg of clomid and am pretty happy with the results. I miscarried in March and have been having ultrasounds to check follicle size for the past 3 months. Month 1 and 2 were unmedicated and I would only produce 1 sad follicle; month one it was 16mm at cd12 and month two it was 13 at cd14. This month however, I have 2 good ones at cd11 (my ob is leaving for the week so I went in early). Both are the rt ovary and are 17mm and 16mm. Uterine lining is good! He suspects they will grow by 2mm/day which would be the biggest I've had them!
Any thoughts/experience?
