agreed probably time for a change, hope the dr is helpful!

I don't know if it could apply at all to you, but I've started to believe each ovary has it's own schedule going (in theory they rotate each month right?). I ovulate on different days every other month (so Sept was like July, expecting October to be like August, etc). I'm sure no doctor would confirm that, it's just a hunch for me.

I did four unmonitored clomid cycles which resulted in a successful pregnancy, so I'm usually a big fan. For you, though, it seems a little less useful. Since you'll soon hit your six cycle limit, I'd personally push for more monitoring, and an increased dose. Once you hit that limit, your choices get less fun, so I'd want to maximize my chances for success in the two remaining cycles.

I agree, I think you may need a stronger dose of Clomid.

I think you are right. I seem to have ovulated every other month which is wierd, not sure if its just a coincidence though! I'm not sure if to move to 100mg or try something else if maybe my lining is thin. There's just too many variables! Thanks got taking the time to reply :)

@LucyLu: I am actually in Canada which I'm sure is different. It sounds like maybe you dosage on Clomid hasn't been strong enough since you don't seem to be ovulating.....

Thank you for your replies. I think you are right. We go back in 2 weeks time so will push for other options and take it from there. The fertility centre has a high success rate but sometimes I think you need to take charge of things yourself and push them a little!
Thank you

I know some people do not get monitored throughout Clomid cycles, and they were okay and have even had success! My doctor is more conservative, I believe, and does an ultrasound to check for follicles and to measure my lining. I think my RE will also not do more than 4 cycles of Clomid in a row.

I think your doctor will prescribe something and else, and if not, it might be time to look for a different doctor.

@mrswin I have pcos. I don't ovulate alone, but have no other symptoms. My BMI is 19.5.
I'm working with a GYN but he works for the fertility clinic in the hospital. Are you in the UK or US? I think monitoring is variable here unfortunately

@LucyLu: Are you working with an RE or just a GYN?? Seems a little strange that they didn't do any ultrasounds during your cycle to check on your follicles. Have you been diagnosed with anything specific?

Thanks for your reply. I only had Day 21 bloods in the first cycle. They said there was no need after that!! I'm just presuming I didn't ovulate I two of the months as I had no period, so they got me to restart clomid again without.

I had thought that about the lining too, so frustrating!!

Were you monitored during those cycles? I'm assuming you were if you knew you didn't ovulate the last two times. Clomid thinned my lining out, so I wonder if that has happened to you and that might explain why your periods are light.

After not doing well on Clomid, my doctor suggested Femara/letrozole. It functions like Clomid. I'm about to switch to injectables next month b/c my lining is still too thin.

Hi.
I'm new to this today and already founds lots of useful info. Thanks.
I've just completed 4 rounds of clomid at 50mg. I ovulated month 1 and 3 but not 2 and 4. I wondered if anyone else has had this pattern before?
I'm due to go back to hospital in 2 weeks and just wanted some advice as to what to push for next. I'm worried he will just leave me at 50mg but I feel like its not really working. The periods that I have had on clomid were short - only 2 to 3 days of light bleeding.

I'd be so grateful for any comment :) Thanks x
