I agree with not going off of it on your own and that 2 months isn't enough to know it's not working. I took clomid because i wasn't ovulating, so my circumstances are different, but i did hear that it can thin your uterine lining - I was concerned with that because mine was thin anyway. My doctor recommended "earlier" than typical for taking the clomid (CD2-6 or CD 3-7) which it looks like you're already doing. I also think, but i'm not sure, that progesterone helps with uterine lining too... so i would think you're covered on that front.

Good luck!

@Eko: i would definitely schedule a time to sit down and chat and explain your concern about being on the meds. Hopefully he/she can help you make the best decision for your situation! :) like @blackbird: said, i wouldn't just stop taking them without having a conversation first

@Mrs. Lion: I am seeing an RE. I did the rounds of the bloodwork and testing all came back fine, so with nothing else to do they put me on the clomid and progesterone.

@blackbird: Thanks for the input! I definitely don't have short luteal phases, and my cycles are really normal. If anything now the progesterone actually pushes out my luteal phase by a couple days. I guess I just feel really discouraged.

I wouldn't stop taking anything on your own. Your first two conceptions were lucky, that's all! You have a 20% chance of conceiving each month and clomid can make you ovulate "better". Trying for two months isn't really enough data. I was put on the same treatment-it's standard, especially if you have a short luteal phase

I took clomid because i was not ovulating, and therefore couldnt get pregnant. Are you seeing an RE? I have heard of others taking progesterone to maintain an early pregnancy, but at this point i think i would seek out a specialist who can educate you on exactly what the recommended meds are for and how they should help. Good luck!!

Help! I need input. In the past year, I have had two m/c, both times successfully conceived on the first try. Since I had the two m/c's I was put on clomid from CD 3-7 and progesterone gel starting once I know I ovulated. I have now done two rounds of the medication and yet to conceive on the medicine. Yet somehow I managed to conceive earlier with no problems, except for ultimately having a m/c.

I am contemplating about stopping the clomid and progesterone. I don't have problems ovulating, so I am thinking there is no need to take it anymore. Also, I have heard of people starting progesterone once they see a BFP. So I want to stop all together.

Thoughts??
