@skibobrown: i didnt either until i started researching cd-safe creams. The idea of something so natural is really appealing and we have been happy with it so far. I hope it works for you!

@Zuzu2and11: Yea my little girl gets red and bumpy where the diaper would be wet against her skin but not everywhere. I am still not 100% sure if we have an allergy or not yet.

We use a spray: Kissaluv's Diaper Lotion Potion. Seemed to help, but we've never really had major rash issues with LO, so I don't think he's very sensitive.

@MamaCate: I had no idea that you could use coconut oil for diaper rash cream, but now that I've looked it up I think we'll try to go that route. I'll take diaper rash cream off of my Target shopping list for this weekend and add it to my grocery list!

Thanks all for the replies! I have a lot of options to choose from.

@ohapostrophe: I use Arm & Hammer for sensitive skin (no fragrances or detergents). My wash routine goes like this: cold rinse, cold rinse with vinegar, hot wash/cold rinse using the detergent. I only use 1/4 of what's recommended. Then I hang dry the pockets and tumble dry the inserts.

@Thehistoryofus: I hadn't thought of sensitivity to the actual diaper because he is only irritated near the crack not everywhere that the diaper touches his skin. Is that how it is with your daughter?

@HabesBabe: i think that is good! I couldnt tell you how many ounces ours is but it is about the size of a spaghetti sauce jar and i think it was $7. We use just a little so it seems more affordable than rash cream. I hope you like it!

We haven't had any issues with rash yet, but did want to throw out there that you may want to try another brand of CDs that don't have the suede cloth interior (like BG4.0's). There are a lot of people that have suede cloth sensitivities.

When I put my daughter in BG4.0 for a full day she gets red, but when she goes to the GroVia's she clears right up. Using a liner has helped the issue some but we may have to make the switch to the elementals.

We use coconut oil--i read about it online and got a jar at my local natural foods store. It seems affordable compared to some of the natural creams and smells good. We havent really dealt with rash but it has worked on redness. We have bg 4.0s too.

We also use Grandma El's, but it's rare... what kind of detergent are you using? I'd check to make sure everything is rinsing clean and there isn't detergent buildup causing the rash.

I love EMAB's angel baby bottom balm. I personally don't use it as a preventative but as a solution once rash shows up. An alternate that is helpful for us is CJs BUTTer. You could also try Thirsties Booty Love.

This might not be relevant for you, but if your cloth diapers have a cotton inside then you can use pretty much any cream and it will come off in the wash. Otherwise I found with the natural creams that it was hit or miss. I think LO was sensitive to some of the herbs because some of the creams (like Grovia) made his rash worse!

What diaper cream do you use with your cloth diapers? Does it prevent redness/diaper rash well?

We just made the switch to cloth diapers (ETA: we are using bumgenius 4.0s) last week, and I have been using Earth Mama Angel Baby Bottom Balm with every diaper change. Even though I apply it all the time, give him some naked time so his bum can breathe and change his diaper once it is soiled, he still gets red and irritated. Before we made the change to cloth, we used Desitin with his disposables which always worked really well. Has anyone else experienced this with the Angel Baby Bottom Balm? Any suggestions for what to change or for a better cloth diaper friendly balm?

Thanks for your help!
