I often wash mine in normal detergent, and I've not had a problem.

Are they made from synthetic or natural fibers? The natural cotton/hemp/bamboo diapers are more resilient to mishaps like that. If they are made of fleece/microfiber detergents may be more likely to cause a problem. I'd say once is probably not going to cause a need for stripping. If you notice the baby's skin is more irritated, I'd do a couple of hot rinses with no soap. Otherwise, make sure your mom know which soap to use next time ;)

You could call a cloth diaper shop to double check, I know my local one is super helpful with troubleshooting. I don't know about gdiapers specifically, but with my BG and flips, I'd probably just run it through my normal wash cycle (cold, hot, extra rinse) twice before putting it back in rotation.

Use it without stripping and see what happens. One wash shouldn't be a huge deal unless your water makes your wash routine very specific.

I don't think one time will do much harm. It's probably fine until the next wash.

So, my mom was being awesome and trying to help when she washed one of G's cloth diapers in regular detergent.

I just thanked her because I didn't want to mortify her or tell her she did something wrong you know, and really she was just trying to help me out.

Do you think I need to strip it now or jsut rewash in hot water?
