1) Cloth wipes: How many do I need? I know Grovia is popular, would you recommend cloth wipes, or disposible wipes? How many disposable wipes to people actually go through? - i bought about a yard of white cotton jersey at joanns and cut it into 10"x 10" squares and they worked great (I tried flannel first but it frayed like crazy and i didnt want to have finish all the edges)

2) Wet bags: What brand did you use? How many do you need? Two? I had a hanging wet bag that had a dry side and a wet side http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/planet-wise-hanging-wet-dry-bag-in-teal-chevron/1043296088?skuId=43296088&mcid=PS_googlepla_nonbrand_none_&adpos=1o1&creative=46931248789&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=CjwKEAiA3Ou1BRDso5XyhduuwFASJABP3PED7L_q5RS6FBfx_3Cy8tVqNx6diqNJgCyYWRfWRsB4exoCpmzw_wcB I sent this to day care each day with clean diapers in the dry side and it was returned with dirty diapers in the wet side.... we also had a medium itzy ritzy bag that i kept in my diaper bag for when we were our and about

3) Diaper pail: Will any diaper pail do or are there specific ones for cloth diapering? Do you just use a wet bag in lieu of a diaper pail? What brand do you recommend? we use this lidded bin from Ikea http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90099049/ and i have 2 planet wise liners worked out great - contained the smell and easy to clean

I hated spraying and swishing especially the free times with the flaps I felt like i was just spraying poops all over our bathroom... we used disposable liners in each diaper so much easier

1) Cloth wipes: We used disposable wipes. I usually have to buy a box of about 704 every month or month and a half. We use them both at school and at home.

2) Wet bags: What brand did you use? How many do you need? Two? I had two large PlanetWise wet bags for the diaper pail and then a medium wet/dry bag for daycare/outings. I also had a Bummis wet/dry bag but it was awful and didn't contain the smell at all. Don't buy those.

3) Diaper pail: I used a cheapie wet pail from BRU and lined it with my large wet bags. Easy peasy.

Am I missing anything else
Consider getting a wet/dry bag for when you are out of the house. PlanetWise bags are the best in my opinion and they really contain the smell.

1. We use disposable wipes (Costco brand are my favorite). One of the big boxes of 900 ish last us about 3 months. I thought about cloth but we were gifted so many wipes we didn't have to buy any until he was 18 months old! That's what happens when people know you are using cloth but are too intimidated to buy you any! By that time he had real poops and I did not want to be dunking wipes in the toilet too. But my kid's poop was never neat.

2.(and 3). We have 3 small wetbags for out and about. 2 would have been enough. We were using two large planetwise wet bags for dirty diapers but after a year of use they weren't containing the smell well anymore and were getting damp on the outside. We bought a step trashcan and use that now. I would just start with that and planetwise liners. Don't bother with a specialty diaper trash.

I had planet wise wet bags and some cheaper ones made in china. The planet wise ones have held up way better. Don't skimp on your wet bags if you want them to last!

4. We don't have a diaper sprayer, but we did make microfleece liners to help with the poop. The flushable liners clogged our toilet. I literally just bought two yards of microfleece and cut them to size. No sewing necessary.

5. We bought a separate tiny step trash can (the size that fits grocery bags) and used that for wipes. That way we could take it out more often than our kitchen trash since we didn't have diapers to be taking out too. Now that my kid is 2 we just use it as our bathroom trashcan since we have a lot less wipes.

I really liked the small baby washcloths as wipes, I got so many as gifts I didn't know what to do with them! I kept the changing table in the bathroom and it was close enough to the sink that I could keep one hand on my son and one hand in the sink to wet it. Worked great and didn't require any extra work on my part.

My #1 piece of advice is DON'T BUY DIAPERS BEFORE LO IS HERE! You have no idea what will fit, it's like buying shoes off the internet (which doesn't work for me at all, ha ha). Use disposables for the first few weeks then try a couple of different brands. My LO had to try like 5 different kinds of dipes before we found a fit, she's long and super skinny and a heavy wetter so struggled a lot with leakage.

I'll also add that we use disposable wipes while out, but that's only because I'm lazy and never got around to getting a mini spray bottle for the diaper bag. I carry a plastic baggie for those to dispose in.

I've found that as LO got older and more mobile I really needed the lock on the UBBI pail. He will open it and reach inside if we don't lock it. The same goes with our regular trash can in the kitchen. He's 10 months old.

@bluestriped bee: Ha, I think the cute prints actually mostly sold. I have a bunch of smaller sized fitted diapers, and solid thirsties and flips covers. Maybe you the time LO2 arrives in August I'll get them sold and finance another baby carrier 😃.

We use a combination of disposable and cloth wipes. I made my own flannel wipes, if you see at all, it's super easy.

We have 4 wet bags. Two extra large hanging planet wise bags, which we use instead of a diaper pail. And two smaller ones for the diaper bag. I like to have two of each size to simplify laundry.

I highly recommend trying a couple of different systems and/brands before you invest a ton or complete your stash. I expected to love aios and pockets, and be ok with prefolds and covers. Turns out, I love prefolds and covers. We use those during the day, and bumgenius freetimes at night.

We use disposable wipes. I got cloth but could not figure out a system to get them wet to change diaps.

I have 4 wet bags. The round Kanga care ones on Amazon hold a ton. I use the small BG ones for travel/daycare. They hold 4.

We use an UBBI pail.

1) Cloth wipes: I made my own - I cut up flannel squares and and an old tee shirt (I liked the t shirt better, but sometimes the flannel was better for poopie diapers). I would wet them under the faucet or use a spray bottle (just water). I did slowly transition out of the cloth wipes as LO started eating solids, though.

2) Wet bags: I have 2 small planet wise bags for my diaper bag - I've never needed more. One for the diaper bag and one in the wash. I also have a medium size one, but I only use that one if I'll be out all day.

3) Diaper pail: I have a cheap swing top trash can with a pail liner (I think it's planet wise, we have 2 so there's one in there while I'm doing laundry). That system works well for me - I've never really had an issue with smell.

My big recommendation is do a diaper rental before you decide to buy. I went out and invested in all these diapers and I ended up hating them. Then I was scared to spend more money on diapers out of fear that I'd hate those too. On top of that we had thrush for 6 weeks which meant special diaper cream, and staying on top of laundry was difficult enough without adding diapers to it.

I turned into a CD drop out and I still have diapers I'm trying to offload. I'm terrible at reselling things. I really wish I'd started with a rental.

1) Cloth wipes: We have the grovia ones and some plain flannel ones (BumGenius I think). I can't actually remember how many, I think I got 2 packs of each, and it's actually been overkill. The Grovia are my favorite though and would have been fine with just 2 packs of those. I'm surprised with all the people who prefer disposable for poopy diapers! I hate disposable wipes for poopy diapers (use them when out and about) - it takes a million to get her clean and my hands end up dirty half the time. I can clean her up with one, maaaybe 2 grovia wipes at home! For the first 12 mo I used a spray bottle but recently I've been running the wipes under the sink for poopy diapers and she doesn't usually need wipes for wet diapers.

2) Wet bags: Planet Wise. We have 2 medium wet/dry bags for the diaper bag and daycare. More would be nice but this is plenty. Holds 6 diapers which is how many we bring to daycare. Or a couple + small pack disposable wipes + grovia stick + change of pants for going out.

3) Diaper pail: We bought a nice white metal flip top garbage can from Target and use a planet wise pail liner (we have 2) which has been great. The lid doesn't close all the way due to the liner which keeps it from getting moldy and smell hasn't been an issue unless you stick your face in it!

We have a spray pal and their bundled sprayer for poopy diapers. Didn't use it until she was on solids. I've tried liners but they bunch like crazy and diapers needed spraying anyhow so I don't bother! I like the idea but I just use them for cream protection. Her poops are still all over the place, LO is a poopaholic.

1) Cloth Wipes - We have grovia - half flannel and half the thinner ones which I prefer. We have 24 and that is more than enough! I only use cloth wipes for pee diapers. We use a spray bottle to wet them. For poopy diapers I want the disposable wipes!

2) We have Planet Wise diaper pail liners - I'm really glad we have 2 of them, but it probably wouldn't be the biggest PITA to have only one. And we have 1 Planet Wise wet/dry bag that we send to daycare. They put the dirty stuff in there and I wash it with the diaper laundry. I really only need one of those bc I always wash diapers at night after she goes to bed. And I have a very small wet bag I keep for our diaper bag that can fit a couple inserts.

3) We have the diaper dekor pail and love it

I prefer cloths wipes since I do diaper laundry anyway. Not sure what brand ours are- they're flannel and we got them on amazon. We have around 20 and that works for us.

We use 3 planet wise hanging wet bags at home, no diaper pail. I could get away with 1 or 2, but i keep them in different areas of the house so i can change him anywhere. They do seem to contain the smell for us. We also have a small wet bag(also planet wise) for the diaper bag.

1) Cloth wipes: we use flannel wipes. I forget the brand but they come in packs of twelve I think and we got 4 packs. I have yet to see the bottom of the stack! I make my own wipe solution in a spray bottle weekly. This method has worked very well for us. I used disposable wipes at first but got tired of separating everything. Although we do use disposable wipes on the go.

2) Wet bags: We have a skip hop one and a planet wise one. Both work fine. I like having two incase one gets dirty.

3) Diaper pail: We got the dekor (sp?) diaper pail with their wet bag liners. The liners come in packs of two and fit the pail perfectly. I also have a planet wise one for back up but it doesn't fit as well.

We started off using disposeables until LO fit into the one size flip covers I bought. It took about a month. We've been using cloth ever since. Last week we were traveling and used disposables...I hated it!!!! The poop stuck to LO and I had to scrape it off with a wipe. And it seemed like the cloth actually wicks much better then the disposables (we use the flip inserts that are moisture wicking). I'm so happy we chose cloth!
We're just starting solids and I'm planning to use flushable liners soon.

1) Cloth wipes: We have 20 cloth wipes but use disposable too just because we have to buy them for daycare anyway so they're around. I forget the brand, they're flannel. We actually use the peri bottle from my hospital stay to get them wet! At first they're harder to get wet but they get wet more easily after they're washed a few times.

2) Wet bags: Hanging planet wise that I leave in the bathroom. I don't notice a smell. Medium one that I send to daycare and then a small one that just fits one or two diapers that I leave in the diaper bag.

3) Diaper pail: We don't have a diaper pail, just the wet bags.

Your CD gear needs will change once you start solids (or I think also if you are formula feeding). BM poop is water soluble so you can toss it all in the wash. But with solids you'll definitely want a diaper sprayer and I second the spray pal. But we didn't get any of that stuff until she started solids at 6 months.

I have around 20 or so cloth wipes. That's enough for us.. You can make them yourself, but I'm lazy and bought some. Applecheeks bamboo wipes are my favourite. We use the Prince Lionheart Warmies Warmer for the wipes, and just use water, wring them out, and fold and roll them so they are easy to take out.

I have 2 wetbags for my diaper bag so I can wash one and always have a backup. It's great for taking to the pool, too. I have an Itzy Ritzy wetbag and a wet/dry bag from Planet Wise. And two PW Paul liners. We use the Ubbi diaper pail. The reviews state that the opening is small, but we've never had any trouble getting BG Freetimes through. We can fit maybe 16 or so in it before it gets full.

I also have a couple of large hanging wet/dry bags that I use for trips to my parents or ILs. I plan to use it for daycare, too. They're probably not necessary but make our lives a little easier.

All the wetbags and Ubbi pail have been really effective at keeping stink contained.

Some people use a diaper sprayer and SprayPal to contain the spray. I don't think they are necessary personally, but others may disagree. I shake poo off in the toilet (he's on solids) but sometimes have to use some toilet paper to "help" it all. Sorry if that's a little gross. But when you have babies you get used to dealing with and talking about bodily fluids.

1) cloth wipes are easy to make yourself if you're so inclined. cotton or flannel are great. i use a spray bottle and spray as needed.
2 & 3) planet wise hanging wet bags. we have two and reusing them with DD2. just hang them off the side of the changing table and throw them right into the wash with the diapers. don't have to touch any soiled diapers. also have itsy ritzy wet bags for travel (medium sizes)

@JCCovi: Hehe. Yeah, you would think with twins I would get tired of some of the cloth diaper preparation and laundry but it's not too bad. Though, my DH is a SAHD and he does the laundry washing. I help fold and stuff the diapers and I'm in charge of filling up the wipe warmer each night. It's not so bad. I can do diaper laundry at night when I get home but I hurt my wrist so it's sorta hard to do right now.

1) I use disposable wipes. I've thought about switching to cloth, but I don't use that many wipes and they aren't expensive, so I haven't.

2) I have one wet bag. It's enough. It's Bumgenius brand. I picked that one because it was what was available where I made my registry. I keep it in the diaper bag and wash it when I was diapers.

3) I have the Dekor pail with a cloth diaper liner. I throw it in the wash when I wash diapers. I contains the smell. I like it.
