All our breast milk poops went right into the washer. :) and now we use flushable liners so poops flush away and I throw all my diapers in our bummis wet bag. I've only ever rinsed maybe a dozen times for really messy off-the-liner poops.

Agree with everyone else- EBF poop straight in the wash. After solids we use a diaper sprayer.

Yep, no need to dunk before solids. I spray poopies with Bac-Out and put it straight in the diaper pail. We will probably just dunk and swish once we're getting real solid food poops. My friends have told me that poop can spray all over the bathroom with the sprayers.

As everyone said EBF poop straight into the wash. Now that we've started solids, I'm using a diaper sprayer to spray the poop into the toilet. It works great so far, but we're just starting.

No need to spray before your baby starts on solids. We just threw everything in the same diaper pail. Now on solids, I just put a flushable liner into each diaper. That way I can just dispose of the liner when she poops, rather than messing with the diaper sprayer and dunking gross poopy diapers.

While entirely breastfed, no need to rinse, scrape, or dunk. We just added those diapers to the regular pail in our son's room. After introducing solids we used a diaper sprayer, squeezed out any water, and spritzed with bac-out. Then it was put in the pail in his room like usual.

@sarac: a bathroom with a changing table would definitely be a great idea... :)

we just wipe out some of the bigger goops with toilet paper and flush and then throw the diaper in the covered pail. Sometimes i rinse out the diaper a little bit too, but not the insert (we use bg 4.0).
sometimes we use a flushable liner, but i don't like how it sticks to my baby's bum.

Yeah, don't bother dunking the early poop. I'm spraying mine now, and I just carry them back to her room. A pail in there would make much more sense, but I'm worried that I'd forget to empty it too. A really perfect solution would be a changing table in the bathroom.

No need to dunk! EBF poo is water soluable, so it can go right in the washer. If youre worried about staining, you can do a cold rinse before your hot wash.

We're planning on using a diaper sprayer. Less icky than dunking, and works better. THEN spray with bac-out, and toss in a wet bag. That's my plan anyway. I'm sure some experienced cloth diaperers will answer this...

Hi! This is my first post, but I've been reading these boards for a while. :-)

Anyway, I have a question for cloth diapering families. We're finally starting the transition to cloth (LO was born small!). What's your routine when changing? Do you dunk poopy diapers (LO is EBF) in the toilet or do you spray with Bac-Out? If you dunk in the toilet, do you keep a separate diaper pail in the bathroom? I'm trying to figure out these logistics and was curious what others do. :-)

Thanks!
