We did bleach all of the diapers (except the pul covers.) We were told to use the cream for five days after the rash was gone too. I also bought A baby powder that is made without cornstarch or talc and I can't believe how much it helps keep her skin dry. I can't use laundromat machines without ending up with horrible rashes all over. If you want to use a free and clear detergent I would use Tide. If you use free and clear you need to use 1.5 times the amount of detergent listed for a heavily soiled wash. I would recommend just using original Tide unless you know your baby is sensitive to it.
