@avivoca: that's great to know! I just didn't want to spend a lot on something we will only use for a few weeks.

We use Thirsties covers and H can still fit in her size ones at nearly 10 months old. I have a size 2 cover and while it is a little big, she'll be able to wear it until she's potty-trained.

@autumnlove: perfect! Thanks!
@grizz: Thanks! I have a few of the flips and I wasn't sure if I should stick with those or throw something else into the mix.

@autumnlove: I have heard great things about the Thirsties, would you still get a couple of size ones and then a few size twos if you were doing the newborn AIOs and already had some flip covers?

What about Flips? I think they would be a great one-size option for you!

The newborn BGs stopped working for my LOs around 10lbs. You can use a Flip cover with flats or prefolds. They are one size:

http://www.cottonbabies.com/product_info.php?products_id=2220

I liked Thirsties covers better during our pre-solid food days.....they have leg gussets and they do a better job of containing liquidy poop.

We are doing a cloth diaper rental of Bum Genius newborn aio's for 6 weeks with the option of extending on a week to week basis. They are supposed to fit up to 12 pounds.

I am registering for a handful of covers to use with prefolds after we are done with the rental. I have three flip covers with aplix so I wanted to grab a few snap covers. I initially was going to go with Thirsties but the size ones are up to 18 pounds and it sort of seems silly to get those when it only gives me 6 more pounds before switching again.

Any suggestions? I like the idea of prefolds with covers that are wipeable. As of now the plan is to do mostly prefolds or flats and covers with a handful of aio's thrown in. I was going to wait on the aio's until after we finish with the newborn rental and start the prefolds to see how we are doing.
