I have 10 newborn fitted diapers, around 13 pockets (BG and Rumparooz), 6-8 size medium Gdiapers, six Thirsties size 1 covers, one Thirsties size 2, 2 AppleCheeks size 2, and several inserts. I like the gdiapers when they are smaller, RAR were best when H was an older baby/toddler, and the AppleCheeks are just so darn cute and easy to use.

@alphagam84: I registered and got some diaper-safe cream! I have definitely been reading up on the Fluff Love site and used their tutorials for stripping and washing my used diapers.

@IRunForFun: we started out with 24 all in one diapers. It all depends on how often you do the laundry

I used only gDiapers. I think 15 is a good number, sometimes I had a few more, depending on size. I got the most use out of mediums (14-16 months of wear for each LO).

Don't forget cloth safe diaper creme! There's a group on FB called Fluff love and CD science that can help with a wash routine and any other issues you may have.

@IRunForFun: having a baby made our bill go up 50% :( it's not just the cloth diapers, it's also increased dishwasher usage with bottles / pump parts / baby utensils, and controlling the thermostat more to keep him comfortable at night.

But baby is worth it! And I still love our decision to CD and make homemade baby food.

@peaches1038: @GreenThumb: @youboots: Thanks! Sounds like what I really need to invest in are a couple more wet bags. I think what'll most likely happen is we'll try what we have and if we end of loving one particular brand/system, I'll resell the other stuff and buy new of what we like.

@DesertDreams88: That's one thing I'm trying to take into account too is wash frequency and electricity. Definitely don't want to go too wash crazy and run up the bill!

We had 20 covers and 25 inserts to start and washed EOD. Now we have about 18 AIOS and 10 pockets that we use as covers, and we could easily wait for laundry for 4-5 days if we wanted. We are startin to stretch out our laundry days to save electricity...

We have over 30 BG 4.0 pocket diapers. I slowly added because I like the fun colors/patterns. We really only needed 20-24 since we use disposables at night and for naps.

We used 24 pocket diapers for DD1 for 2 years with 2 diaper pail wet bags, 1 medium wet bag, and 1 small wet bag. I did buy a couple extras (5) for DD2 because we misplaced one somehow and they were really cute prints/colors used from a mom in town, so we now have a total of 28.

I have 24 diapers. He wears cloth all the time-home, out and at daycare. We use one disposable for nighttime. Perfect for washing 2x/week  oh and we have 2 pail wet bags and I have 3-4 medium wet bags that I use for daycare and then 2 very small (like fits one diaper) for short trips

@babypugs: Awesome, thanks! Yeah, we are going to play it by ear whether we keep baby in cloth when being watched by someone else. It'll mostly be grandma care if anything at least the first year, so we will see. 😊

I think you have plenty! We have about 15 and never ran out--but we didn't use them when LO was an itty-bitty newborn or at daycare. I washed every two or three days.

I have 9 covers, 24 medium prefolds, 6 large prefolds, 12 small prefolds. That was enough to get me through 2 years of diapering and start on baby#2. It sounds like you have plenty! You can't go too long between washes anyway because they start to really smell. 3-4 days was always my max.

Do you have wet bags? That's probably the only other thing you might want.

We are going to attempt cloth diapering. We already have a couple packs of newborn and size 1 disposables for the very beginning, anticipating some trial and error and not wanting to do extra laundry for a while.

I've slowly been buying used cloth diapers either from friends or from a local b/s/t group but I'm wondering if I have enough. I've got a variety of brands so we can figure out what might work best for us before we buy any systems or spend money on new cloth.

I have:
- One Grovia and one Tot Bots newborn diaper, both AIOs
- 4 gDiapers, size small
- 3 Thirsties AIOs, size one
- 3 Applecheeks envelope covers, size 1
- 2 Blueberry pocket diapers, one size
- 1 Thirties AIO, size medium
- 2 gDiapers, size large
- 5 Cloth-Eez Workhorse diapers, size small
- 4 Flip covers
- 1 Thirsties duo wrap cover
- 1 Bummis cover, size small
- 1 Bummis cover, size medium
- 2 covers unsure of size or brand
- TONS of prefolds
- About 10 inserts and 10 doublers

I realize we will need diapers in bigger sizes but I figure we'll get those later once we have figured out what works for us and baby and baby is a bit older.

Is this enough to start out with?
