I didn't go to a class but most places that sell CD's (brick and mortar stores, not online ones) will do a demo like class and explain the differences and let you see and feel all the products. It really helps to see them in person!

i totally want to find a class like this--i'm in the same boat that you were, in that i'm into the idea, but my husband is pretty skeptical. i feel like we both have to be on board in order for it to work (i don't have the stamina to be the only CD cheerleader/expert), and a class is such a great idea! so glad that you guys both are firmly on the CD bandwagon!

yay that's great. I know when I was reading all about it, it seemed so overwhelming, but it's actually quite simple. I wish I had a class like that when I was pregnant.

Yay! We went to a local store too and they taught us the basics. The store was also going out of business so we bought our newborn cloth stash and accessories at 70% off!

That's awesome! We don't even have a local store that sells them around here so I couldn't even see what I was buying .... it was scary!

Hubs and I went to a cloth diapering tutorial/class yesterday. I have really wanted to do cding since I first started reading about it, but Hubs was pretty skeptical. I found this great little place not too far from our house that offered a free class, so we went yesterday. The instructor told us all the benefits of cding, how to care for cds, and then she talked about all the different kinds available (AIO, pockets, prefolds, etc). She passed each of the diapers around and we got to play with them and get a feel for them. Hubs is now fully onboard with cloth diapering, and even I feel much better about the decision - I was starting to think we'd be biting off way more than we could chew. But after sitting through the class, I think it's something we can definitely handle, and even though it will be a bit more work, it's a compromise we're both willing to make. I'm so excited!

If you're considering cloth diapering but aren't sure about it, see if any places around you offer a course. This place is great. Not only do they offer the course, but when you're ready to buy, or have any questions, you can stop in and they will answer any of your questions, walk you through purchasing, etc. It was invaluable to us!
