@grizz: @skipra: We currently use a Planet Wise wet bag for our dirty diapers - can we still use this if we spray them off first or do you need to have a pail?

It needs to go in the toilet.

Liners are great if you have a kid that poops on a schedule. Mine don't, and I find it a pain to use them all day. We tried a sprayer and honestly didn't love it...enough pressure made a mess and less pressure wasn't effective. But I know a lot of people love both options, I just couldn't make them work for us.

I use a big plastic scraper, kind of like the dough scrapers/cutters I have in my kitchen. It's simple and will get everything off the diaper. I probably only need it less than half the time for poopy diapers. Sidenote, sometimes letting the diaper sit for awhile before you scrape it lets the mess get tacky and so it will roll/plop off easier than when it's fresh and wetter. Gross but true :)

I would never put them straight into the wash! I usually sprayed it off and then threw it into the wash for a soak.

I have some liners, but lo's poop can be unpredictable and I hate wasting them, so I don't usually think to use them. I recently just started flipping the diaper inside out and dunking the pooped in part in the toilet before putting it in the pail. Seems to be working pretty well so far. I am hoping to avoid needing a sprayer.

I made liners out of fleece. It's easier to dunk them than a diaper, but liners are key. I agree with @looch: Be careful about liners, especially If you have a house with older plumbing. It takes those things a long time to break down but it doesn't take very long for your pipes to clog.

Liners just didn't work for us, I don't know if it was the type of liner or what, but they made it worse.

Be careful about flushing liners. I know they say they're flushable, but most plumbing systems can't handle them in large volumes.

I agree...get the liners ASAP. We use the large Bummis but they all work the same. I can't say that they catch everything for us, but LO has some crazy poops, so maybe it's just our situation. They do, however, make it much easier!

DIAPER LINERS! They saved us! We use Grovia bioliners. They are huge but they always catch everything. No scraping. Just flush them.

Don't put it in the washing machine as-is - we learned that the hard way after DH spent 20 mins picking banana pieces out of our washing machine.

A is eating solids once or twice a day and the poop is definitely changing. It definitely isn't solid, but it is thicker. Should we be trying to scrape the poop into the toilet or still throwing it into the washing machine as is?

Any advice is much appreciated - thanks!!
