@mrsrain: our poops are almost always still squishy at 2 but we have managed without a sprayer. I flip the diaper inside out and dunk in the toilet water. Its definitely my least favorite job, but I don't know that a sprayer would help. I feel like it would just make the poopy water slash back all over me and make it worse haha.

@avivoca: That is a good point. She just started having more solid poops recently. I am hoping they stick around, they are much easier to clean up than the runny/sticky poo!

@mrsrain: You don't necessarily need a sprayer. I've never had one, so I don't know how much easier it is. I will say that with more solid poop, I can usually just plop it into the toilet without ever having to get the scraper out.

Thanks everyone! This is all very helpful. I think we are going to try a wet bag in the bathroom and I guess we need to buy a diaper sprayer.

My son is 10 months and eats 3 meals a day. We put wet diapers in a wet bag by where we change him. Poop diapers are taken to the bathroom. I spray them with a sprayer and use a Spray Pal. Those go in a wet bag in the bathroom. I wash twice a week. I do a pre-wash (shortest cycle on the washer) on cold with powdered original Tide to the first line on the scoop. Then the main wash (longest cycle on the washer) on hot with a heaping scoop of Tide. I hang the shells and put the inserts into the dryer.

My LO is just shy of 9 months, and I've actually found the poop to be easier to spray off with the more solids he has.

We use a trash can with a flip top as a diaper pail. Wet diapers go straight in. For poops we spray them off with the diaper sprayer and then put them in the pail. Right now the pail is in the nursery closet, but before we moved we kept it in the bathroom next to the nursery, which I liked a lot better.

I do laundry every 2-3 days, whenever I get the chance. I do a short, cold wash with a small scoop of Tide, then a hot wash with a full scoop of Tide. Inserts go in the dryer and the outer part I hang on a drying rack.

LO is 8 mo and I hear you on solids changing it up! Yuck. Sprayers are nice but sometimes I'm thrilled when she poops in her overnight sposie and I can just toss it!

BG 4.0s all go in the pail with a propped open flip top, wet bag liner, in the nursery. The bathroom is connected to the nursery where we spray poopy diapers with our spray pal and then since the pail is literally outside the bathroom door in the nursery, just turn around and put the sprayed diaper in there. We need to get a bucket or wet bag to hold the spray pal but it just sits on the edge of the tub right now, gross I know.

Wash every other day at random times because I do shift work and my schedule is unpredictable, do a cold pre-rinse, cold soak with half the amount of detergent (original Tide powder) and then heavy duty wash on warm with regular scoop of Tide. Pockets are hung up and inserts/wipes go in the dryer. Unless it's really nice out and I'm feeling ambitious then they all get hung up! I do the 1/4 c bleach wash every 1-2 months as well.

My LO is 20 months.... We use Freetimes and Disposable Liners at every change (Bummis or Grovias large size). I dont have a sprayer. Freetimes are really hard and messy to spray/rinse in the toliet. I have a pail with lid and a wet liner bag in there, all diapers go in and the messier poop diapers get sprayed with Bac-out (i cut 75%/25% with water) I wash twice a week. Prewash Cold, Heavy Duty with extra Rinse on Hot with Tide Gentle powder, Hang to Dry. Add 1/2 cup bleach maybe every 2 months ish.

My LO is 1.5. All diapers go in a closed diaper pail (we have a dog, so I don't chance it). Poop diapers get carried to the toilet and I either plop or scrape the diapers. We do not have a sprayer, so we have a dedicated poop scraper that hangs on the toilet and gets washed every time we use it. I wash 1-2 times a week in the evenings. I do a warm rinse, hot wash, cold rinse (2x) with Ecos Free and Clear. I also strip my diapers whenever they need it.

My LO is 1. Wet diapers go into an open pail in her bedroom. Poop diapers get carried into the bathroom and sprayed off then put into an open wet bag in the bathroom (I find open pails actually make them not smell at all, closing the pail makes it smell for some reason). Every other night we wash. Prewash at last diaper change. Second wash at bedtime. Diapers get hung up before I go to bed and are dry by morning.

My daughter just turned 1 and we have been cloth diapering since 2 months. We had a great routine until she started eating solids and we moved to a new house. Now we are really struggling to figure out a routine that works for us! What is your routine? Specifically:

- Do you use a diaper sprayer?
- If so, do you keep a wet bag/pail in the bathroom?
- How often do you wash your diapers?

Any advice, suggestions, ideas would be great.
