Exactly the same as @scg00387. We have some jeans etc but they just don't fit well.

I think it depends more on how your child is proportioned. LO is pretty long, so she moved up in rompers/sleepers sooner. But she's really skinny, so bottoms fit for quite a while and cloth actually keeps them up. Now that she's a bit older, and her height and weight is even more proportional, cloth doesn't make much difference at all.

We didn't start cloth until six weeks but we now size up in pants. I think it also depends in what kind of diapers you are using. One size diapers are pretty bulky on a small baby, but newborn cloth diapers might not take up as much room.

We were in newborn size until 3 weeks old (born at 7 pounds 2 ounces) and didn't start cloth diapers until 2 weeks (with newborn rental of Fuzzibunz, Bumgenius, and Tinybots). No problems with fitting newborn clothes in the cloth diapers. My daughter is tall and we have to size up due to the combination of her height and diapers. Pants and sleepers have been a huge problem for us in the ~12 month size range as they seem to be cut slimmer starting around this point.

We didn't need to size up, but occasionally I'll find a pair of pajama pants that is a little tight over our overnight diaper (prefold w/ snappi, plus an insert from a pocket and a piece of fleece). We didn't need such a bulky overnight system at first, though, so newborn clothes were fine.

We started cloth at about 2 weeks old. I agree about Carter's onesies, the NB size fit him just fine! We also did Footie PJ's a lot, and Sleep Gowns. It does make pants a little bit bulkier, but I haven't found the need to size up.

DS was 6.6 at birth and 6.14 at 1 week old. We switched to 0-3 mo clothing at about 5-6 weeks when he got over 9 lbs.

Now, our overnight cloth diaper set up is pretty bulky (Fitted with a Hemp/Fleece Overnight Stay Dry Liner) and Sleep Gowns or a Wrap shirt with no bottoms is the only thing that will fit.

We started cloth at around 1 month old and he fit into 0-3 months and some newborn stuff just fine (he was a normal sized baby, 7lb13oz and grew typically). So he used all sizes, but grew out of them faster. He was generally a size bracket ahead when wearing cloth for pants.

As a newborn, my LO was exclusively in sleepers... so they fit just fine over cloth! We've chosen to avoid non-stretchy pants; they just hinder his movement even though our diapers are trim. He has always been a size or two up from his age, partially due to size and partially due to CD.

I agree they makes pants more snug! Our LO didn't wear cloth until about 9 weeks as she was just too small for them. (We didn't buy any newborn sized cloth diapers). For this reason her newborn clothes fit for quite awhile!

I typically size up for pants and buy carters onesies because they are longer. Another thing we didn't anticipate is that LO grew out of his infant seat sooner than we expected because the cloth took up extra room length wise...so we had to go up to a convertible seat around 9 months. Rompers are really great in the summer :) I size them up as well.

My LO 2 is wearing 18 months bottoms at 11 months. I would definitely size up!

Cloth diaper newbie here and I have what might be a really dumb question. I know that cloth is bulkier so do I need to size up in clothing quite a bit or is it pretty minor? Should I skip right over buying newborn clothing expecting that she will never fit them because of the diapers? Or will I just need to size up sooner then most people do? I know this depends partially on how big she is at birth but please tell me about your experience with clothing sizes.
