@DesertDreams88: big kiddos! whatcha gonna do : )

@lilyofthewest: He has two thirsties size 2 covers that do still fit. Just don't love them with the current inserts we have.

@maddyz: We had a bg 4.0 at first and I hated the material, but I had an elemental that fit similarly which I did like. It probably still fits but not great, and same with the flip cover we have. Yeah, I agree about trying to pin a prefold. I just wonder if I might like something that stays up a little better than his droopy folded ones! Also that separates the skin on his hips and cheeks from the cover.

@Pollywog: I was thinking about getting some from GMD, thats what we had for the newborn stage and they were great! I cheaped out for free shipping when I sized up and got a different brand that was on amazon, and they were the same width as our previous ones but super long. Like so ridiculously bulky when you trifold them and fold in the front to fit, might as well just use my old ones.

So now I am thinking I need some new inserts and maybe one cover. That should be too expensive since i still plan to use disposable part time. I was thinking about trying a motherease sandy fitted and maybe a new cover?

I'd look at green mountain diapers. Their prefolds and workhorses are great. I'd also try Thirties large covers (not the duos-- the sized ones)

The thirsty size twos are huge. I use them for our giant over stuffed night time diapers (which we have mostly given up on)

Lo1 is 16 months and 32 pounds and still fits in our bum genius 4.0s depending on the elastic he's either in the last snaps or the next to last ones. I think they will continue to fit him for a while as he grows. His chubbiest was actually between 9 months and 1 year... he's tall to so that helps. I wouldn't buy those new for a large kid.

I really like the way the flip covers fit him, but there isn't a tun of extra room in them to grow. I use them with a prefold folded in thirds, no snappy or pinning around him and it works great. I can't imagine trying to pin around him now that he is big and running around. Poop does ok most of the time, might get on the cover, but always stays inside. No pee leaks.

My (23lb) 14 month old is on the largest rise setting & leg snap of all of his one-size diaper covers (mix of Rumparoo, Best Bottom & Chinese cheapies), but is still at the smallest rise setting (and several waist snaps in) on his Thirsties Size 2 covers. Overall, they're not my favorite covers, but, they definitely have a lot more room to grow than any of the others we have.

Applecheeks makes a "size 3" pocket diaper that's for 30-60 lbs I think (targeted towards special needs). A bit expensive but I LOVE their brand.

Thinking about getting some new cloth diapers for my 32 lb big chunky 18m old. He's in size 6 and has been for months. He outgrew his OS AIO diapers before age 1! He briefly started fitting in them again when he was walking, but they are just a little too tight and I don't feel comfortable with squeezing him into them : (

Now I have a few covers, some prefolds, some flats, and a few random inserts that I was thinking of trying at least part time. Especially since he's pushing the limits on his target diapers, which have been our favorite. Ive been trying out different disposable diapers to see if I can find some that work better, and even ordered some size 7 pamper cruisers which fit ok...I just feel like if I am gonna be spending more maybe I might invest in some more cloth.
I was thinking:
-buying some wider prefolds that I could actually fasten with snappi, and maybe a couple new covers
-buying g diapers in size XL and trying to make either old prefolds or flats work as inserts
-getting something else completely new that I don't know about?

any advice?
