@T.H.O.U.: thats always how we put our BGs on, it's the only way they fit properly. Glad to know its the right way :) thank you!

@Mrs. Chipmunk: that makes sense, I do that when she wears dresses and diaper covers so they actually cover her diaper, but if it helps the fit in general, ill make sure to do it all the time.

It didn't interfere with LO meeting his milestones, although it did cross my mind because they are so bulky. I think it does hinder his ability to maneuver up the stairs and on/off things sometimes though.

I saw a good video on cd, maybe rumparooz, and it said to pinch the diaper inward so the edges actually follow the natural underwear line

It wasn't a problem for LO 1 but it has crossed my mind for LO 2 since she isn't crawling (only army) or standing at 12 months. It probably isn't a factor but I will ask the physical therapist next week.

@blackbird: @Weagle: thank you! I feel the same way, but one little comment from her doc threw me for a loop I guess..

@littlebug: I'm glad your ped was reassuring! :)

I recently saw a video about the appropriate way to put on a cloth diaper and it showed the difference in a cloth versus disposable.

Basically a disposable, you lay high up the back and just pull the last smaller bit up front. But for a cloth diaper, you want to lay the baby down as low as possible on the cloth diaper and pull as much as possible up in the front.

I was very concerned too, but she has met all her milestones on time. My IL's constantly give me grief about how funny she walks because of her diapers though :bummed: She walks a little more like she's been on a horse, not so bow-legged though

I had the same concern, cuz they do seem SO bulky. And especially because he is on the later end of the development curve. But I asked our ped about it and she said she absolutely does not think the CDs were the cause of his tardiness - he's just taking his sweet a time to do things.

It absolutely didn't have an effect on LO meeting milestones. I also think all kids are a bit bow legged, but it's not because of CDing. I did have people mention that they thought it would hurt her development, but there were thousands of years before people used disposables. Those children certainly learned how to roll over and walk.

I think all children have a slight bow legged walk. But CDing has not interfered at all with any of E's milestones

So K had her 1 year appt this week (sniffle) and her ped made a comment about her diaper being bulky while we were discussing her slightly bow legged walk. When I asked if he thought it was actually causing the bow legs, he said to just let her develop and it could be something she just grows out of. But now I can't get the diaper comment out of my head.

Any other CD mamas deal with something like this? Did your diapers interfere with any of your LOs development? Or should I just brush it off?

FTR she also walks bow legged in disposables, but since she's in cloth mostly, maybe it doesn't matter..
