Thanks for posting about this @Mrs squirreld! I've been curious about which brand to try, so I ordered some Luna Pads and we'll see how it goes.

@Modern Daisy: you might be better off googling some of the brands the other ladies used as mine are australian ones :-) but here you go!

I used disposables for the first week or so while everything was really heavy and I needed a lot of coverage. I actually used tena incontinence pads...they were really soft, thick, and long. After that I used glad rags. I have 2 packs of 3 I think, and never ran out before laundry.

I will be able to tell you in about a month!

I had a few that I bought to try out during my regular period-- so I started with 3 longs and 3 mediums (Pink Daisy brand). I just got some Luna Pads to add to that. Luna Pads are interesting because you keep the pad on all day and change out the liner. So I got 2 longs and 2 maxipad size with 4 extra inserts in each size. I also got 4 pantiliners. I'm thinking I might also try a Moonbeam. (I'm sort-of trying out all the brands we carry where I work.)

I'm generally not a super-heavy bleeder and last time I don't remember having much blood after the first week or so... but I've heard that some people have a lot. I'm planning to have a package of disposables on hand just in case!

I'm imagining with this stash I should be washing them 2-3 times a week at the beginning and 1-2 times by they time things lighten up and I'm using the pantyliners in the rotation.

For those who used cloth pads for postpartum how many did you have in your stash and how often did you wash? Just working out my postpartum supplies!
