@Mrs. Chalk: we are potty training our 2yo now. We use the cloth wipes to clean the bowl. We've moved our diaper pail to right outside the bathroom. But you're right, we don't use as many as when we were exclusively CDing.

We bought some from GMD and a few from Zulily. I think about 40 total. More than enough. Receiving blankets would work just as well. We mainly use plain water, but have some Kissaluvs Diaper Lotion Potion on hand for particularly sticky situations.

@caffeinated: The only time we had to work at it was when DS had the gritty poop from teething.

We have a combo of BG ones, flannel leftovers, and Birdseye organic cotton. We have around 50? We use California baby bum spray diluted 10:1.

@pelikila: i second the thirsties wipes. So good!

However, they arent as good getting into the crevices when there is poop. Cut up blankets may be better.

We use water, and when we are out i use the bum genius bum spray.

Oh, I just thought of another question. Assuming diaper laundry gets done every two to three days, how many wipes do you think I'll need? (This is primarily for one semi-newborn; our two-year-old is now in disposables until he potty trains, so I won't be using them as much with him.)

When she was newborn, we used receiving blankets cut up (not sewed) and water.

We have a ton of these: http://www.thanksmama.com/OsoCozy_Flannel_Wipes_Pack_of_15_p/bbt-011.htm

We use a spray bottle with water + a little Dr. Bronner's Baby-Mild soap mixed in.

I just cut up some receiving blankets and keep a bottle of water on her change table. I didn't sew them or anything so they fray a little, but honestly, they're wiping poop so I don't care! lol!

I cut up old receiving blankets and sewed them together.

I also received some grovia cloth wipes and they were amazing!!! Super soft and absorbent.

Our solution was a little baby soap, water and essential oils. I mixed it up, lemon, tea tree, eucalyptus or lavender.

I used cloth wipes but bought them, mostly from BRB and IKEA. Just water in a spray bottle. We always sprayed the wipe, not the diaper area.

We use them. Just water. I had a wipes solution but LO had issues with it and with all the allergy ring rashes we were having from food our doctors recommended just water.

We use Thirsties Fab wipes and GoodMama wipes (100% loop terry not the designer ones). We had some Kissiluv flannel wipes and I intended to make some from flannel receiving blankets, but I hate the way flannel gets pilly after a few washes so we sold them (wouldn't want that on the bum). I think OBV and CV is just awesome for a wipe! Grippy yet thin enough and one wipe is all you need!

Do any of you use cloth wipes? Did you buy them or use your own fabric?

I'm going to cut up some old receiving blankets (the small useless ones) and try it out. Any tips? What did you use for solution? (Water, dissolvable wipes solution, your own recipe?)
