Hospital gown. You are going to bleed a lot, so don't bring anything nice.

I wore a gown for labor, and the day after the labor. (I labored until 11:15 pm, and had the epi in until noon the next day) Then I showered and put on drawstring pants, nursing top, and robe to wear around (LO had to go to NICU so I wanted to be covered up and down the elevator but still comfy.)

Edit: I wouldn't buy a pricey gown just because it's cute, it will be ruined and you will throw it away. Stick with the ugly provided one IMO!

Hospital gown! You don't want to worry about staining/ruining something cute or that you care about. I wore the hospital gown until it was time to change to go home.

I wore the hospital gown while in labor/delivery.
Once I got into my recovery room I immediately took a shower and put on a cami and comfy shorts.
I didn't wear another hospital gown the rest of my trip. but, I also didn't bleed real bad either. Don't know if it was because it was my third time around or what.

hospital gown plus a loose comfy sports bra. The hospital gown gets grody and they will bring you a fresh one all the time. I wore it until I got discharged, then I changed into yoga pants and a maternity shirt.

You're going to bleed all over whatever you wear. I wore the hospital gown and am so glad I did--it was nice to just be able to throw on a new one and not have to deal with bringing bloody clothes home. I took a shower and changed into a a nursing tank and yoga pants the day after I delivered.

My girlfriend had her baby a couple of weeks ago and had one of those cute, monogrammed hospital gowns. You can see it on my IG. I think it was really cute and nice for being in pictures with friends. Personally, I was more comfy in my own mens'-style pajamas after labor. I felt more covered up and easy access to BF. I just wore the standard hospital gown for delivery. Can't imagine I'd want to wear the same one during & after labor.

Stick with the hospital gown for delivery and the first day, it was a bloody nightmare down there in the beginning. Later I moved to dark yoga pants and a big fluffy robe and was ok.

I wore a comfy nursing bra and hospital gown while in labor & brought VS pajamas (button down thermals) & a robe to wear after. I wanted to feel pretty afterwards. I bought them three weeks before my due date so I'd have new pjs and a new robe. I bought dark colors, they didn't get ruined.

I wore a gown until the day following birth. The nurses frequently wanted to check my peri-pad for bleeding (they were concerned since I passed out 3 times). It just made things easier, plus it wasn't my laundry I was getting dirty!

@stine_ciro: while I agree those are ADORABLE...they just aren't practical. I don't know anyone IRL who had anything cute. I bought all black tshirt material shorts to wear bc I knew I'd bleed thru, and I did, I'm glad I had comfy clothes! Buy bigger than you think you'll need ;) you'll thank yourself haha

I did not want any of my own clothes on while I was there. Too messy, bleeding after, and there was always someone coming in to look at my lady parts anyway. So I would not buy anything special to wear there.

I wore yoga pants and a nursing tank home (and almost every day since then )

I saw these really cute ones on etsy, but it seems like a lot of money for something to wear for a day or two in the hospital.
