I bought a couple cheap pairs of pants and spent a little more on shirts because my new chest isn't going to fit into my old shirts. I'm hoping I can get into the old pants again after a few more months though, I've only got about 10 lbs to go.

As you still have 6 weeks to go, I'd hold off on doing anything related to pants for a few weeks yet. I'm 12 weeks pp and can get into a lot of my pre-pregnancy pants but I've also had to go out and buy a new pair of jeans as my skinny jeans are just not comfortable yet!

As far as tops go, if you're bf'ing, I'd start shopping for new tops now! Absolutely NONE of my old tops fit, except the ones that were huge before I got pregnant, and until I stop bf'ing, there is no hope of getting back into them any time soon. I was a B before baby and am currently a DD, so maternity tops fit fine on top but look absolutely ridiculous in the belly area as I no longer have a belly. Argh, I can't wait to fit into my old clothes again!

I bought 7 jersey dresses from Target and wore them basically every day all summer -- I want to burn them now! I fit into pre preg clothes by 3.5 months with a lot of hard work.

I bought two pairs of old navy pants a size up just to get me through, and wore flowy banded bottom tops, which I also wore in early pregnancy before I was really showing and just looked like I ate too many doughnuts!

For work, I wore my maternity dress pants & shirts. None of my old clothes fit, but I also didn't want to buy new pieces since I hoped I could lose the weight quickly. I ended up quitting to be a SAHM after 2 months, so I'm really glad I didn't buy any new work clothes.

Day to day, I just wear a nursing tank/old t-shirt and DH's boxer shorts around the house :P (Don't I sound so attractive?? Hahaha) I did end up buying a pair of jeans and capris, and a couple larger shirts from the Gap that were on sale so I could have something decent to wear out. I'm really, really hoping to lose these final 10 pounds soon, though! I wanna fit into my old clothes again!!

I just went and bought a couple of cheap dresses from Old Navy that were a couple of sizes up. I'm 16 weeks postpartum and still have about 15 pounds to lose, which sucks.

I finally went and bought 2 pairs of jeans up 2 sizes from my prepeg pants b/c I was sick of being between my maternity pants and a closet full of pants that don't fit. I wear jeans and nursing tanks with cardigans for the most part w/ a couple shirts that have buttons and others that I can wear a tank under & just pull up to nurse. I'm slowly loosing the weight but figure it'll still be a few months before I'm down to my prepreg clothes.

If I were going back to work now I would buy a couple new things.

I bought new pants and shirts. I'm 20lbs heavier than I was and it's not going anywhere anytime soon. My shirts were all form fitting before and none fit now. My wardrobe at this point sucks. I wear Sweats on the weekend.

Maybe a girdle? Like a waist cincher? I think you might have to fake it til you make it on this one...
P.s: you're a teacher right? Well new York & company has a sale right now that is $70 off of $150 in store and online plus I believe teachers get 15% off by showing their school I.ds :)

I had to buy a couple pairs of pants, and some new tops because nothing fit. I quickly slimmed down after going back to work, but I'm going to have to get rid of a lot of shirts because my boobs are so big!

Fortunately at work I can wear jeans and a t-shirt 3 days out of the week...but as for the other two days, super limited in the wardrobe and no idea what to wear. My stomach has almost completely disappeared 2 weeks pp, but I have serious back rolls that never existed before. :-(

I wore my maternity clothes back to work too. I didn't want to spend a bunch of money on work clothes that wouldn't be needed for long. I'm 16 weeks pp and can fit into some of my regular work clothes now and it won't be long before the rest of them fit again.

For the first almost two months I was still in maternity clothes. Granted they were starting to fall down, but it was worth a few weeks of a messy look than getting an in-between wardrobe. By 3 months I was in my regular clothes again.

My jeans fit :) so i wear them everyday. Thankfully they are appropriate at my job. I lost all the weight pretty fast but not everything fits the same, especially other pairs of pants and dressier things. I wear a nursing tank so I can pump and it is a pain to wear with dresses and skirts. So basically I am really boring but I figure I can hopefully expand my wardrobe once I stop breastfeeding and have more time to actually tone. (LO is now 9 months)

I'm thrilled I'm only 10 pounds away from my pre-preg weight, except I have a ton of toning to do. I feel like I'm just a bunch of flab right now! At this point NONE of my clothes fit me right. I don't want to have to buy a new wardrobe before I go back to work (I still have 6 weeks to go), but will surely need some pieces because things just don't fit the same.

What did you do for postpartum clothing?
