You don’t have to keep anything. I think that might be more successful than stabbing in the dark with brands you aren’t familiar with I love madewell high rise (10”) skinny jeans. Shoes take a long time for me to find but I did find a good balance of comfort, cuteness AND waterproof in the Blondo brand. You can also be specific with fabric. I don’t like acrylic and wool makes me itch. TJ Maxx often has nicer brands of jeans for much less. For shoes, I have a pair of Frye boots that are awesome. I got them years ago and they are incredibly durable - they still look exactly the same as the day I got them. I pull them on with thick socks over jeans or leggings and they always look great - effortless and classic. I don’t have any specifically to recommend because I bought all of mine years ago, but you can wear a neutral ankle boot with literally anything and they’re a little more unique than the tall boots that every other mom has. I can't wear LL Bean. it's too boxy for me. My favorite brand is Boden but they are expensive and you have to pick wisely: some of them need to be dry clean (a big no no for a mamma...) I tried Stitch FIx a few times and got a few pieces I like but they were all rayon (I picked) so they wash well, no ironing needed but I felt they were expensive for the quality but I like the style and couldn't find it online in my size (tons of people seems to put their extra pieces on ebay...) so as the gift, it might be fun? Now, for the short boots, I have the same problem. As soon as the weather gets too cold. I want to wear socks so I can't wear my pointy Rothys so then I wear some converse or adidas casual shoes... and if my few pairs of skinnies ( i have 2 are clean) then I wear my high boots. Wish somebody would recommend some shorts boots or shoes to wear. I can't do vans. My mother wants to buy me an outfit of my choice. Shoes, top, pants. I would normally go out shopping, but am staying in. Buying on-line is not my favorite because I don't know how things will fit, but I want to give it a shot. I dress fairly plainly. Mostly I SAH (well, I work on-line in my PJs as well, but in terms of clothing, I don't have a job to dress for). I love sweaters, but also have an abundance of them. I like to wear boots, but I have two solid pairs--they're high, though, and I'd be interested in a pair of shorter boots if I knew what to wear them with. So, mostly I'm looking for people to tell me their favorites--brands, individual items, why you like them? I'd love to have a better start than typing "women's tops" into google. Thanks!
