My cousin had it. I remember he had a cast when he was a baby and kicked me with it all the time. He is 15 now and plays football. My husband's cousin also had it. One of her feet is smaller than the other, but unless you know it isn't noticeable. She is a competitive cheerleader and sometimes needs an ankle brace.

One of our good friends has it. He has to buy two different sized shoes and that's about the extent of it. It's never been an issue and it's not noticeable.

I've never heard of it before but I did a quick Wiki search and found a ton of famous people that were born with that condition: Kristi Yamaguchi, Damon Wayans, Tutankhamun.

My SIL's little brother's boy had club feet when he was born. He had surgery right after he was born, and casts for a little while, and then braces for awhile after that. He's 2 now and he's perfectly fine. :)

I had this when I was born. I believe I had to wear a cast for around a year...maybe less. I also started figure skating when I was around 3 which my mum thinks helped to straighten it out. I would never have known I was born with it had I not seen the cast and been told! Oh I also did not have to have surgery.

My husband had it too and he's perfectly fine and played sports in school at a high level. He had braces on for awhile and his mom mentioned that he walked late but other than that...

@Thehistoryofus: Oh that's what the docs told my co-worker, but they were transfered to a children's hospital so they might shed some more light on the cause.

Even though they say its not genetic both my father and my brother were born with this. My brother had to wear special braces and have surgery but he is really healthy now.

Also, @blushink: There is a lot of new research out there that does not agree with the old thought that it was from poor positioning in the womb.

@sloaneandpuffy: Exactly! That's why they are doing testing to find out more. The docs said that in boys... it was a symptom of down syndrome (in many cases) but for girls it was something completely different.

Glad to hear your husband is doing great! and i mean, really 1 leg skinnier than the other... I have 1 foot bigger than the other and don't let me get started on my boobs. lol

One of my best friends had this when she was born. She had corrective surgery, but I'm not sure exactly when. She had a very good result/totally normal feet now and in fact was a D1 college softball player : )

My husband was actually born with clubfoot. He is healthy as can be and even likes to run and do sports. One of his legs is a tiny bit thinner than the other. But he was treated almost 40 years ago so that is probably not normal anymore.

My friend's baby was born with club foot and it was diagnosed in utero. She had to have a surgery to lengthen her achilles tendon when she was very little and she wears a thing that looks kind of like a skateboard holding her legs/feet in a certain position for x hours per day. She is also a very healthy little girl and at this point (as a toddler) she only wears this thing at night.

She was diagnosed during her NT screen and they were concerned because clubfoot can be a sign of some chromosomal problems, but in her case it was not.

My male co-worker announced before the holidays that he was expecting his first child. I was so happy for him and his girlfriend. Pregnancy seemed to go well except that at their 20 week ultrasound, they saw they their baby girl would have club foot.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_foot

Basically what that means, is that at 7-8 weeks in the womb the baby didn't move much which caused her feet and leg ligaments to curve causing this said club foot. It's nothing drastic apart that she will need a small surgery within her first year and she will need to wear boots for a years time to readjust it all.

I was just wondering if anyone here has had this, or know of anyone who has. I keep telling him it's not the end of the world. But they are going to the children's hospital on thursday to see the cause of it (seeing it's usually hereditary) and this isn't the case, so they want to dig a little deeper.
