My cousin had a coed shower and said her mother-in-law did a diaper raffle while opening gifts. She said it helped keep everyone interested...but I guess it would depend on the prizes. They would need to appeal to men and women. She said lots of small gifts was better than 1 large one. I think their shower was in the afternoon

I should have mentioned the shower will be in March or April in Ohio, so no outdoor stuff. I would have loved to do a BBQ

One of our showers was a co-ed one. Everyone just hung out and visited when we first got there. Then we ate and did presents. We did one game which was fun...ours was in warmer weather so this may or may not work for you. We didn't know what we were having, so the hosts set up two big containers...one decorated in pink and one in blue. People threw water balloons from their second floor deck and tried to put them in the buckets...showing whether they thought we were having a boy or a girl. It was a simple and fun activity that was good for the men and women...and got people chatting who maybe didn't know each other before the shower.

I (we?) had a co-ed shower that was a BBQ at my parents' house. We didn't do any games or usual shower activities. It was more like a family party with pink decorations and present-opening. It was great!

Our co-ed shower was held at night with a buffet spread, bar, and music. There were games and prizes for those who wanted to participate or people could just socialize. Pretty low key and it was great!

I went to a co-ed shower. Games they did were Which man can drink the bottle the quickest, and a diaper one (I wasn't in the room for that)

the loser of the games had to wear an adult diaper, it was hilarious!

The rest of the time was just hang time

Haha at first glance, I saw this and thought you were talking about another kind of co-ed shower (the risqué kind  )

Love the idea of a game night. You could do normal games with minimal baby-themed stuff, so it is just fun without overwhelming the guys with all the baby stuff that some people don't love. Otherwise I would just do food, gifts and hanging out.

DH and I are throwing a shower for friends (speaking of which, if you are the friend in question and are reading this, go away) but I'm not sure exactly what we should do. We were thinking about a Mexican theme with a taco bar, or a game night, but I'm just not sure what to do. Should it be at night or in the afternoon? What activities should we do? Should we have activities or just have food and gifts and hang out? Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
