@locavore_mama: @London Mama: @honeybear: sorry I'm just now responding but thanks for all of your input! I'm guessing we will just see how it goes. We do have an extra crib mattress so I may need to see how my husband feels about that.

Would you consider putting LO1 in a floor bed (i.e., mattress on the floor) next to your bed? That way she could still be in the same room and next to you, but not in your bed once the baby is moved there.

For even less separation, you could put your mattress on the floor too. I really liked having our mattress on the floor (not that we ever had a bed frame! ;) ) once LO was a toddler, because I didn't have to worry about him falling off.

I have a 2 year old who usually ends up in our bed some time half way through the night until he gets up for the day. Baby nr 2 is due in about 5 weeks and I have the same concerns. I'm planning on just seeing how it goes, maybe DS will miraculously start sleeping through in his own bed or maybe baby will be a good sleeper. And if both kids continue to wake up in the night we'll adjust to that. I'm planning on putting them in the same room from about 6-9 months onwards so they'll need to get used to each other making noise in the night anyways.

Sorry that's no concrete advice but I think it's really difficult to know these things beforehand, you still have plenty of time so perhaps see how things are 1-2 months before due date and then make a decision?

We don't Co sleep but I'd imagine keeping your toddler in the same room as an infant could wreck havoc on her sleep? But on the other hand I'm sure those in small apartments manage just fine as well?

Good luck!

Just curious if anyone co-slept with 2+ kids? If so, how did it go? Would you do it again?

My 1 year old co-sleeps and we are expecting baby #2 in Feb.. There will be an 18 month difference. My daughter loves sleeping in our bed and does so for both naps & nighttime sleep. And well honestly, I love the snuggles & extra time together (even if she is asleep) as I WOH. Starting to wonder if I should transition her back to her crib before baby #2 arrives. I'm not ready to do so but worried about MON wakings waking her up. Baby #2 will sleep in a bassinet in our room to start off.
