@cvbee: It's like she has a special sensor that lets her know when she's being put in the crib. I think because our bed is higher than the crib. She wakes up every single time we try...our plan was to put her down in the crib and bring her to the bed when she woke up for her first night feeding (she usually wakes up once or twice to nurse)...but that hasn't happened yet.

What about transferring her to the crib once she is sleeping?

@skibobrown: We are trying! She used to sleep in her Mamaroo rocker for naps but she's outgrown that. We've tried her crib but she screams like a banshee in it. We only allow her to cry for about 10-15 minutes so she hasn't actually slept in it yet.

@brownie: That's cool that he could get out of bed by himself before he started walking! I am going to look into railings.

Can you introduce another spot for naps, for when baby will be sleeping alone? Like maybe a Pack N Play or small crib of some sort? My daughter co-sleeps with us in the mornings and when she's sick, but she never naps alone in our bed.

We put up one of the toddler bed rail in the bed. The other thing we did is taught the baby how to get on and off the bed by himself (feet first). He like climbing so he had no problems with this and could get off the bed by 12 months old by himself (before he was walking). He has only fallen off the bed once and that was when I knocked him there before the bed rail.

We co-sleep/co-bed. Originally we used the Arm's Reach Co-Sleeper and although it's still attached, LO doesn't spend much time in it, she's mostly in bed with us. She is now starting to move around, can roll over from her back to tummy, and scoots everywhere (not yet crawling but almost).

We DON'T have the option of placing the mattress on the floor so I am looking for other options to prevent LO from falling off the bed onto the floor during nap time. Any suggestions?
