Not very much. I nurse her until she's super drowsy, then roll over and just put my hand on her tummy until she falls asleep. If/when she wakes up, usually around 4am, I start to nurse her, and then I fall asleep, so I'm not really sure how long she stays on, but the few times I've stayed awake for that feeding, it's only been about 15 minutes before she fell away on her own and went back to sleep.

We don't co sleep thru the night, but if she wakes up earlier than I want (1x a night), I'll often nurse side-lying and let her finish out the night in bed with us. She usually will stay latched on longer than feeding, but will eventually detach and roll off within 5-10 min. On times when she won't detach without crying out, I will try switching a paci for my nipple. Usually, she take the paci and reject that after a few seconds.

All babies are different. I co sleep with my 14 month old son and he doesn't stay latched on all night but he will usually stay latched on for about 5-10 mins every feed and he wakes usually 3-5 times. Have you ever thought to try a pacifier? My son quit his on his own at 10 months so he won't take one anymore but prior to that it was literally my only way to ey loose. I would slowly slip my pinky in his lip when he was drowsy, then replace my nipple with the pacifier and voila!!!!

If you co-sleep and breast feed, what % of the night is LO attached to your nipple?

My LO must be latched on literally all night. If she falls of she screams until she gets back on. She's been this way since the day we brought her home from the hospital. I thought it was understandable in a newborn but she's 8 months now. It is super uncomfortable - especially since she only eats from one side. When she sleeps in her own room she wakes once to feed. Needless to say we rarely cosleep.

Am I missing something? Are all you co-sleeping ladies doing it nipple in mouth all night? Just curious.
