@Foodnerd81: Ugh, I remember how awful it was when LO had his 2 colds (so far). They eventually sleep more and need to eat less frequently, but found that if we were co-sleeping more he'd turn to me and feed even if he wasn't hungry This was when he was older than yours, obviously. As a newborn he ate round the clock. Good luck!

I'd like to share that LO slept 12 hrs last night in his own crib, with one night feeding at midnight. It's especially good, since I'm sick with some kind of low-grade fever and chills, and reeeeally need my sleep! LO has never gotten sick from me, so I'll miss that aspect when we eventually wean.

@Astro Bee: yeah I'm so thankful that breastfeeding should keep her from getting too sick. But man do I need sleep. She's only 2 weeks old so lots of night wake ups, especially since she has a stuffy nose too. :crying:

I had strep throat this summer, and we were spending the second half of the night co-sleeping, as well. It seemed as if he spent half the night breastfeeding that week, but he didn't get sick. I don't think anyone slept all that well, though. Also, DH was working, and I was on mat leave, so we had no one else to take care of the baby. Except for the worst day, which was Sunday (so DH had him downstairs), he spent his days cuddled up to be in bed, and also went to my doctor's appt, too. He is mostly STTN now, though.

So to answer your question, when I'm sick, we still partly co-sleep. If DH is sick, we co-sleep, but DH sleeps in the guest room.

We don't co-sleep and the sick one always sleeps in a separate room. Even before we had LO.

The sick one always sleeps in the guest room, unless the sick one is LO, then I take my chances :silly:

How do you handle cosleeping if you to your SO are sick? The baby usually spends the second half of the night in bed with us, sleeping on my shoulder I have this awful cough keeping me awake and it makes it harder to sleep with a baby on me, plus I feel like it disturbs her and germs (luckily I'm breastfeeding so I'm less worried about her being exposed to my germs). I'd really rather her sleep in her cradle while I'm sick, but of course she is waking up more.

Do you just tough it out while you're sick? Have the sick one sleep somewhere else?

I just want to stop coughing and sleep!
