When she volunteered for the trip she thought I was going too. It was not her responsibility to go on the trip. We serve work in different functions. My boss should have covered from someone from my department but I can't fix that. The trip turned into a mini-disaster (not her fault) with terrible weather.</p> <p>I'd like to thank her for leaving her two little kids and husband for four days. I know the upheaval that comes from business travel. Stressed out spouse, cranky kids, messy house. </p> <p>I was thinking about getting her tickets to the zoo or something family-friendly like that. I was wondering if that would come across as unprofessional? </p>
