They were learning about how unhealthy traditional oils are, even olive oil, they said, supposedly goes rancid when cooked at high temps. So my sister cooks almost exclusively with coconut oil. He says it helps with his weight loss/metabolism and there is a certain healthy fat in it only otherwise found in breastmilk.</p> <p>it seems to be a new health trend! good points about using it as a diaper cream, moisturizer, etc... Cooking, body moisturizer, hair care... has anyone used it before? </p> <p>I'd like to experiment with cooking with it (I love the smell/taste of coconut), but I've seen people using it to make eggs and other savory dishes. What's your experience with coconut oil?</p> <p>Oh! And apparently Trader Joe's sells a 16 oz jar for $5.99 which is a pretty good deal. </p>
