@artbee: i would honestly consider taking her in for a doctor to look. I was certain C had regular diaper rash. It would go away and then come back and then get better and then worse again. It was a yeast rash. 2 days with some Nystatin and its SO much better. You may need antifungal or antibacterial cream.

I don't know about CD safe, but we had great success with Corona. It's not something you can get in a "normal" store. It's a lanolin based cream that is typically used for animals. My DH comes from a farming family and this was their cure-all. I was skeptical but it's what we use most of the time, or Triple Paste.

I like coconut oil, but it doesn't do anything for our rashes.

Has anyone used coconut oil for diaper rashes with disposables? Does it work the same way as with cloth diapers?

It doesn't seem to help treat LO's diaper rashes, but his tend to be yeasty. It does work well to prevent things. We use it during the day and then Triple Paste at night for a more "hardcore" barrier.

@runsyellowlites: It's on top of the who-ha area and one big blotch, not tiny little dots like Dr. Google says a yeast rash is, so I don't think that's it.

@artbee: Could it be a yeast rash? You have to treat diapers specifically for yeast if it is, just stripping them (depending on how you do it) won't generally help. Then you could have some re-infection going on. =/

@tororojo: We use CJ's Butter and it did nothing. The rash just got worse and worse, and I ended up switching to sposies for a couple of days so we could use something stronger. The rash was almost gone so I thought I could go back to cloth and put CJ's butter on it, but the rash came back. Hoping the coconut oil does the trick!

Yep! It did take a little longer than the other homemade *not* CD safe cream I made but it did completely clear it up in about 3-4 days time, every day looking significantly better. I whipped a couple oz of it up with a squirt of lanolin & a couple drops of tto & lavender oil as well. It stays pretty warm here so the coconut oil stays liquid pretty easy, I just put it in a squirt bottle & sprayed it on with each change.

I have heard good things! The only thing that has worked for LO's rash is CJ's BUTTer, which has coconut oil in it...I have wondered if that's the magic ingredient.

Anybody use it? Does it work? I hear it's cloth diaper safe and LO has a rash that no cloth diaper safe rash cream seems to help. I already stripped the diapers, so it's no that.
