@Andrea: Same here. It's all over C's body and face. Looks so sad. :( I tried everything too. Rubies sent me some eczema cream from Canada so I'm excited to try that! Eczema sucks. :( I've been applying hydrocortisone to the bad areas. Hydrocortisone works really really well (gets rid of most of it). But I was old not to use it too often or for long periods of time. So we use it when it gets bad. Otherwise it's coconut oil or Vaseline.

@Andrea: Aw poor thing. :( Eczema sucks doesn't it? I apply it at least every 2 hours and I lightly massage it on. It didn't get rid I the red bumps but it did alleviate the itchiness and the scaley skin. I didn't see an improvement for at least 4-5 days. I notice it works well when I apply it right after bath ( like within 3 mins). And i cut down her bath to every other day. Does she have it in her body and face?

We put it on DS for every diaper change. He also gets rubbed down with it after baths. I use it on my face as a moisturizer.

@autumnlove: haha the G-Luxe was super loud and squeaky one day while ai was at Macy's, and the whole store was pretty quiet. It was soembarrassing while I was strolling. So I remembered that coconut oil can substitute for WD40... I had some in the stroller for diaper changes, so I just slathered a bunch on the wheels. It didn't work at first, but by the time I left the mall, the squeaks were gone!

Some people use it as a personal lubricant. It would probably make eating it with food difficult after that.

I've used it for:

diaper rash prevention, dry skin/eczema, chapped lips, frizzy hair, cleaning/polishing stainless steel appliances, and fixing squeaky wheels on my UB G-Luxe!

I plan on using it as a base for a homemade exfoliating scrub and maybe homemade deodorant too.

I know you said non-food uses, but food uses I love include dropping a spoonful in oatmeal and smoothies and frying some French Toast with it!

I've seen some references to coconut oil here and there, and I thought I would try to put together a more comprehensive list of what all you can do with coconut oil. With your help, of course!

How do you use coconut oil with your baby - as lotion, as remedy for ___, or something else? Any comments or suggestions are welcome! Thanks :)

P.S. I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so I stuck in in Baby Health ...
