@Weagle: Good idea! I did scoop out a small tupperware container's worth (like a baby food jar size) and put it in my hospital bag already!

@Mrs. High Heels: That's a good point! I already wash my hands like crazy that they always feel like sandpaper. Diaper rash & moisturizer at once seems like a good thing!

I scoop the oil out of the original jar and store it in baby food jars. We keep one in several rooms in the house, including right beside the changing table. I feel like it's more manageable in a smaller container.

Interesting! But I think I could only scoop about the top 1/3 of the jar with my fingers. Maybe I'd have to transfer it to a tupperware or something wider to get my hand all the way in.

I have the jar on a bookcase next to her change table and just use my fingers to scoop it out of the jar and body heat melts it. I don't use it for diaper cream but I do use it for so much else.

@shopaholic: I have it in a jar and I just scoop it out with my fingers. It melts immediately upon contact and is really easy to spread. Plus it has the added benefit of moisturizing your hands.

I just have the jar on her dresser. I unscrew it before I undo her diaper and I use my fingers to get it out.

I know a lot of "bee" moms use Coconut Oil for prevention/treatment of diaper rash and/or just as a moisturizer for your LOs. For those of you who do this, how do you have it set up in your diaper change area? Is it straight out of the jar and you use a kitchen spoon? In our house, it's generally cold enough that the coconut oil is solidified in the jar. Just wondering about the logistics of unscrewing the jar, scooping it out, etc. and thinking about what a mess it can be?
