I took ibuprofen for nasal swelling and aches and used hot compresses and saline spray to loosen things up. Then like others, rest and tea. The pharmacist told me Sudafed was ok to take, she recommended the 12-hour Allegra-D. If you're feeling iffy about it, I would recommend calling a pharmacist at your local pharmacy.
