Plus I can only imagine what a pleasant guest of honor I will be when I'm uncomfortable and big as a house. </p> <p>I talked to my sister about it tonight and am hoping we can come up with an alternate plan--either my sister taking the lead so we can do this earlier or doing two smaller showers where one is earlier. I sure hope we can find a solution.</p> <p>Oh, and I forgot to mention it earlier, but there's another reason why I really don't want a late shower. Our gender reveal was supposed to be at the shower, and my husband just can't wait til January! My husband is having a bad week, so I have to care for LO 100% of the time, even though I feel super nauseous and tired. My mom and sister are not super supportive of this pregnancy (given my husband's health issues), so I can't really call them for support. I haven't told any friends yet, just two coworkers. I tried to talk to my husband and he told me to stop...said I was making him feel bad. All I said was that it was hard, but I guess that made him feel bad about not being able to help more :( Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.</p> <p>@Iced Tea: I'm really sorry. :( I wish you could have your shower earlier. If it makes you feel any better, I had mine pretty late, just a couple weeks before I was due, because that was the only way my mom and sister could be there (they came early for Thanksgiving, I think my shower was on the 19th or something, and I was due 12/7). My sister was the one who planned it. It all worked out, but it was hard for me not knowing what to buy. I ended up buying almost all the essentials before the shower, so that I felt prepared, and only left stuff on my registry that I needed for later on or needed in duplicate. The day after my shower, I placed large Amazon and BRU registry completion orders and everything arrived a couple days later. So even though it wasn't ideal, it worked out totally fine! After delaying setting a date for a month, she now wants to have the shower in January. I'm due in February. Yikes. It's our first and I really need this shower to prepare. She was a lot more concerned with not having ample time for decorations and "taking away from Christmas" (aka all of Nov &amp; Dec) than what the shower means for me. I kinda wish she hadn't been the first to step forward to host. She's more concerned with being a Martha Stewart party planner than anything else. I literally almost cried.
