We did it from birth (8:30pm) until the next day at around noon when a nurse helped us with his first sponge bath. So our 'coming home' outfit just ended up being his 'first outfit in the hospital' outfit. It was a onesie and hat with this name on it, and little pants and little socks. I loved that his name was there on his body for his first photos, but it would have been better if it was a simpler thing like a footed pajama. Then DH had to go home and bring us a bunch more outfits. We had a matching hat, too but she had a peanut head and it was WAY too big.
