I would always use the excuse of lo has stranger anxiety, which was especially true when she was your lo's age. She didn't even like people to look at her let alone touch her. And she would cry at them so they would always back off :)</p> <p>Now she is 14 months and people rarely touch her. I'm not as concerned with germs, she picks things up off the floor and sticks it in her mouth anyway. Or at least ask if they can touch him. Just like with dogs. Always ask befor you pet! ;). I have had to politely ask someone not to touch my then newborn once though. It was awkward but I'm glad I did. She is about 4 months old, so I am attributing it to the everyone loves a new baby factor. Whenever I take her anywhere I am constantly stopped by people who tell me my daughter is cute or beautiful. Now, I don't necessarily mind the comments. I think it is sweet. But I dont know how to keep from snapping into protective mom mode. Whenever anyone approaches me I go into instant protector mode. Today, this woman touched my daughters feet!!! I am on edge whenever I go out with her because I am usually stopped a few times. </p> <p>What did you do when you were stopped by strangers? Does the frequency of prople commenting/stopping you abour your lo lessen as they get older? </p>
