He's just used to using paper plates. </p> <p>DH always got takeout before me so plates were rarely needed. I asked for a pan to cook with and he handed me a pot. He had no pans. He didn't have most kitchen appliances, utensils, etc. Or normal ingredients that you keep in the house, like eggs and flour. I would walk over to my parents house a few blocks away and shower there (although they also had a "wet bath" at least they had a shower head and a reasonable amount of hot water!). My husband used ours all the time though. </p> <p>The other problem was that we only had running water four hours a day, two hours in the morning and two hours at night. So if you missed the window, you were screwed. The whole bathroom was tiled (floor and walls) with a drain in the floor, and you just held the hose over your head.
