Yeaaaaaah, my 16 month old's poop isn't solid all of the time. I feel used to it, though. Doesn't bother me as much any more.

Hmmm... DD has some awful smelling breastmilk poo, so there wasn't much of a change when we moved her to solids. The only difference was the cleanups were so much easier.

I delayed solids for the same reason. That, and I was going back to work and it was just too much to figure out all at once.

DH occasionally gets grossed out by the EBF poops...like back away gagging (wimp). I'm skeptical of his ability to handle real poop. On the positive mayhaps I'll be able to eat sour cream again without associating the smell of it with poop.

@mediagirl: @mrsjazz: hehe. Yes, the sweet / odorless breastmilk stools are definitely nice... I guess it depends where you are in your diapering world. Right now I'm with a poopsplosion twice a week EBF infant and a potty trained toddler so I feel like anything is better than the poopsplosions..! Haha. And once we started solids the diaper pails got DISGUSTING so we learned our lesson... solids poopy diapers go straight into a plastic bag and into the outside trash.

Solid poop is so much easier to clean up! Yes, it stinks to high hell but NO BLOWOUTS ever!!!

@mrs. wagon: Ugh, I disagree! I miss those breastmilk poops so much! My LO is 9 months and she hasn't had a solid turd yet, more like a nasty poopy, smelly, gross-colored mess! I almost puked changing her diaper on Monday, there was a poopsplosion and it smelled soooo bad.

@FutureMrsMcK: The nasty poops didn't start right away because LO wasn't eating much solids in the beginning.

@FutureMrsMcK: YES. Me too. And you know what? I wish she still had those sweet breastmilk poop....sigh. Her poops now are so gross, our trash can can't contain them anymore. Her room just stinks. Blech.

@FutureMrsMcK: hehe. good confession! Honestly though, solids poop is kinda better... even though it smells worse, sometimes it's a solid turd that you can even just dump into the toilet and re-use the diaper. I don't think I ever re-used a diaper, but that's how easy clean-up is when it's a solid poop! You barely even need to wipe! And no more risk of blowouts unless they have diarrhea.

I keep telling people that I want to put off starting him on solids until after he hits 6 months so that I can start him on something more interesting than rice cereal (true) but the real main reason is that I'm trying to put off dealing with real poop (as opposed to EBF poop) for as long as possible.
