@Rubies: that's what they actually 'taught' us to do in prenatal class if we were ever feeling like we couldn't handle it. They said to put the baby somewhere safe and go take a break because a baby never died from crying. (This was to prevent people from shaking their babies, etc).

@chopsuey119: I have fallen asleep on the nursery floor but my child is in a hitty stage so I am usually afraid I'll wake up to a toy to the face!

@Rubies: I think you did exactly what you're supposed to do! Put her somewhere safe, walk away and then do something that makes you feel better!!

When LO was colicky but I didn't know it yet, she would cry and cry. I was so tired and frustrated that I swaddled her up and put her in her pack'n'play, closed the door, went into another room, closed THAT door, and laid on the floor crying for 15 minutes. I stopped crying, pulled myself together, and went to fetch her.

After his first round of shots he just screamed. I was so exhausted I put him against my knees and fell asleep for like 30 min while he screamed. When I woke up I was level headed enough to take him in the shower and run warm water over the site and he felt better.

I used to pinch his cheeks when LO would just cry and cry when we were trying to put him to sleep. Three hours of wailing each night really gets to you. That's also when I knew I NEEDED to sleep train. He was already 5-6 months old.

I've yelled at my 5 week old....several times. It's usually along the lines of "Go the f*** to sleep!" or "Why are you crying?!!!"

Yesterday I napped on the couch for 20 minutes while LO played by herself.

I felt really bad about it, but the floor we were on is baby proofed!
