@Mrs.KMM: Exactly! The class went through several different options for main management. I thought I was going to prefer the "focus on the spot of discomfort, and breathe through it", but I was much more comfortable when I just let go of everything, and give into my primal side. They taught that in the class, but I figured I'd want to be more intentional. In the moment, the last thing I wanted was to be present (like the Bradley method), ha.

@littlejoy: I really like that they cover a variety of pain coping methods since you can never really know until you're in the moment what will work best for you.

@junebugsmama: So far they have a lot of availability (thankfully) and I'm still a good ways out from my June due date so I have some time.

that sounds so great! I wanted a class like that, but the only one I found had one session offered and was way sold out. All the other classes I found were very intense and with an intense price tag to boot!

Sounds kind of like my class, but was a different name. I loved it because it could apply to hospital, home, or birth center, and really just focused on learning about your body and listening to yourself. It helped my DH a ton, and I went into labor with a lot of confidence.

So I'm starting to look into childbirth classes. I'm just finishing my first trimester so I know I have some time to figure things out but I also know that my husband and I often get super busy so I want to get something on the calendar sooner rather than later so we can plan around it.

I'm really intrigued by the Confident Childbirth method and classes (http://www.confidentchildbirthmethod.com/about-confident-childbirth-method/why-confident-childbirth/).

Has anyone taken one of these classes before? What were your thoughts on it?

For those not familiar, Confident Childbirth teaches a combination of Lamaze breathing, Bradley husband/partner involvement, and Hypnobirthing relaxation. They are also “pro” natural birth, yet not “anti” intervention when such intervention is necessary to promote the “Healthy Baby, Healthy Mom” outcome.
