Sorry to hear AF came. You have a wonderful attitude going into the next month though! I definitely think optimism and thinking positively is a must when TTC. Good luck! :goodluck:

Aunt Flo came today! 4 days late. I am guessing this is due to the chemical I'm pretty sure I had two months ago.

I'm not really bummed out about it because I didn't think I was pregnant and the longer my period took to come the longer I had to wait to try again!

Told my husband this morning we'd be trying "with gusto" this month and he raised his hands and cheered. He is totally on board, not just because he's looking forward to all the sex, but because I know he is excited about being a parent.

I remembered to take my temp this morning on CD 1 (before I knew it was CD 1) and I'm looking forward to keeping a detailed chart this month! I was in a funk where I just didn't care anymore for the last couple of months, but I'm feeling recharged and am committed to thinking positively. It's going to happen soon, I just know it!

Hmm, it seems like that may not have been an actual period then. I would take a pregnancy test if I were you! I think it's possible that you ovulated but the OPK didn't pick it up.

This month I never got a positive OPK. I got 9 days in a row of flashing smileys on the advanced digital clear blue tests, which means high fertility, but never peak. I also noticed my lines on the cheap tests getting darker, but never positive. I missed testing one morning and so I went for close to 24 hours without taking an OPK and that happens to be the day I noticed my ovulation symptoms (ewcm and cramping), so I'm hoping I just missed the LH surge.

My period was due yesterday/today, but I'm waiting to test for a bit. This is my 5th month trying, but 3rd month using OPKs. They annoy me!

Good luck!!

I guess here is another thing... my last period was super light but I attributed that to be "not a real period" b/c of the lack of ovulation.

But I guess another possibility is that I did ovulate and the OPK didn't pick it up (there were always light lines but the electronic thingy didn't say I was ovulating) - and since we DDT around that time - I could have gotten pregnant and then had implantation spotting? I don't know. Who knew this would all be so confusing!!! It has been a year of making an effort so I'm definitely ready to be pregnant!

I think it's definitely possible you could have had a chemical pregnancy and that's why your cycles are off, but also I don't think OPKs are super reliable 100% of the time (at least for me!).

I've actually never charted or temped, it seems too stressful and clinical to me, but if I'm not pregnant in the next few months I may start. I have anxiety issues, so I'm trying to be more relaxed about this since I know TTC can become all consuming.

Since your period is 2 days late it wouldn't hurt to take a pregnancy test just in case!

Not much of an update. I was traveling a lot through the first part of July which was not super conducive to temping and DDT (staying w/ family a lot). I guess I could have been tracking CF but didn't really do that either. I brought OPKs with me while traveling but didn't end up doing them. I would just forget. I haven't super gotten into the groove of charting yet.

However, I am two days overdue for my period which is pretty unusual, so something is definitely up. Maybe I had a CP and my cycles are not yet back on track. I suppose I could do a PT but I'm pretty sure it would be negative because we did not DDT during what I think is my ovulation window this past cycle because of all the traveling.

Trying to make a point to chart this cycle so I can start to understand what's up with my cycles. I did a tarot reading for myself this weekend with the questions "Will I become a parent? If so, how will I become a parent?" The reading was very positive and the overall outcome was imminent success - which suggests that I will get pregnant and not that we will end up being parents through adoption or some other means. So right now I'm just trying to think positive and pay close attention to my body. But of course I forgot to temp this morning, doh!

I also have 26-27 cycles. I was going to ask if you'd read Taking Charge of Your Fertility, until I got to the point where you said you did! The most important thing I learned from that book was that the time from your period until ovulation can vary quite a bit, but the time from ovulation until your period comes (DPO) is almost always the same. That really helped me look back at my charts and realize that I may have been missing the mark on my DTD. I went off what Ovia and other apps said which automatically say you O on day 12-14 or so, which was wrong for me, even with my short cycles. So now that you're taking temps, I highly recommend the Fertility Friend app. With no luck using Ovia when not tracking temps, I took 5 months with no pregnancy, but once I read the book and downloaded Fertility Friend, I knew without a doubt when I ovulated. I got pregnant my 7 month and I ovulated on CD 33! It was such a wacky cycle, I spotted on CD 14-16 instead of ovulating and my temps were super jumpy. But by day 33 once I got a positive OPK, had egg whites, and a temp rise, I was certain I'd hit the mark. I waited 10 days (I had a short luteal phase) and took a test and saw a faint line. So, long story short, yes, your ovulation date can jump around from cycle to cycle. I'm not sure why. The book says things about stress and life events, and I had none of those. But it's possible that you had a chemical and that your hormones are just resetting. If you haven't ovulated yet, just keep on keeping track, and it will come. Then count those days and you might find that you have a short luteal phase too. I suspect that maybe I had a chemical or two due to my short LP, meaning my body wasn't allowing enough time for implantation to complete and hormones to pick up. I also learned from the book that it's not possible to get a period if you haven't ovulated yet, or if you do get a period, it's not a real menstruation, per say. So I think your probably just still waiting to O. I just noticed this is a 5 week old post. Do you have an update?

A chemical pregnancy would certainly explain why you appear to be ovulating later than normal. I had a natural miscarriage last summer at 6 weeks and I ovulated about a week later than normal. It takes your body a few days to figure out what is going on with all the fluctuating hormone levels. I also tracked ovulation for about a year and there were a few cycles there that were just annoyingly later than usual.

The method that helped me the most (and was essentially the same thing that my RE advocated) was the "Sperm Meets Eggs" plan in which you try every other day after cycle day 10 and do opks (or earlier or later depending on whether you ovulate early or late). You are "on" every other day until you get a positive opk and then once that happens I think you are on that night and the two next nights, off a night, and then on again for one last time. There is a free kindle download which helped me: https://www.amazon.com/Sperm-Meets-Egg-Plan-Pregnant-ebook/dp/B009O1ZYQG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1465996526&sr=8-1&keywords=sperm+meets+egg. The name makes it sound silly but it logically made sense and my doc advocated an every other day approach just to cover your bases. Hope that helps. Good luck!

I'm on cycle day 14 and I haven't gotten a positive OPK test yet. Which wouldn't be that weird except I have short cycles (25-26 days) and I *think* I usually ovulate around day 11 or so. I haven't done OPKs in the past or even taken temps but that is when I have noticed the lubey-gooey CF.

This month I had the lotion-y stuff on day 9-10 but haven't really been progressing to the eggwhite or lube-goo stuff. OPKs since day 9 all negative and it is now day 14. My app predicted yesterday as O day. Also my temps have been all over the place so far, though still in the low range, from 96.4 to 97.2 (I am counting a 97.5 as an outlier b/c I drank the night before and slept in late and I know both can affect waking temp). This is the first month I've been closely tracking temps so I'm not sure if that is normal for me or not.

We DTD on day 11 and will probably do it again tonight. But I am wondering if you have any insight into why my cycle might be off or weird this month? Ever since I have been paying marginal attention to CF I've had the good stuff around day 11-12, a day or two before my app predicts O. Since I only recently learned how predictive of O CF really is (reading the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" - what a mind opener!), I had in the past focused more on DTD on day 13 when my app predicted O.

This past month I had a real squinter of a preg test then got my period on day 27. It was an awful, awful period that lasted five days (normally mine are 3 and maybe a super light flow on day 4) and I still had cramps on day 4 (that NEVER happens). So I am wondering if anyone think it's possible that I had a chemical or miscarriage (also if you could explain what a chemical is that would be appreciated - I'm not totally clear) and thus may not ovulate this month? Or may ovulate late? There aren't really any other factors that might delay ovulation this month, like stress or travel.
