@mrs. bird: Please just tell her you want an appointment with the doctor. I don't think she should be the "gatekeeper" or the one deciding whether it is a big deal or not. At the end of the day the bleeding you are experiencing is outside of the "norm" so I would expect the doctor to do a follow up exam.

I would definitely ask to speak with your doctor. At least in the main office (since I go/went there too :) ), the doctor's administrative assistant schedules phone consults. I would call the main line, ask to speak to your Dr's admin assistant, and ask her to schedule a phone consult with your Dr. Explain that you just have some concerns and want her perspective on things.

I would definitely insist that you speak to the doctor or come in to see him because you're concerned and you feel you've been given conflicting information!! I really hope you get someone who's HELPFUL to talk to about this!!!

Definitely call your doc. 48 days when you were told 7 is absolutely excessive.

I would request to speak with your doctor! At the very minimum I would at least start worrying that all the bleeding is making you anemic.

i had previously spoken with the nurse at my dr's office regarding extended bleeding post op after uterine septum surgery, she told me that it was unusual, but that they weren't going to start to really worry until a wk after the period i just had. so that was last wk and i just spoke to her because i'm still bleeding and now she says it's no big deal (48 days bleeding as of today).

it was supposed to be about a wk of bleeding after surgery, but nothing heavier than a period, i had lots of issues with uncontrolled bleeding at first and it's lightened up, but still going. so why was something for them to 'really start to worry about' last time i spoke to her, but now it's no big deal?? this is also the woman that told me my insane bleeding early on was no big deal and as soon as the dr heard, she called me herself and made me go straight in to have my labs drawn & an exam, so i don't really trust the nurse's judgement.

would you assume that if it was something she would check with the dr or what would you do? i always have to go through the nurse before talking to the dr, so i'm not really sure when to worry and she keeps flip flopping her answer. i'm starting to get anxious about it though, this is not at all normal for the surgery. she said she didn't need to hear from me for another month and that's just to schedule a follow up scan, not even the office with the dr
