@Mrs. Polish: +1.

We use Motrin at night because it lasts longer as well.

I'm in the minority, but I do give him Tylenol when I can tell he doesn't feel well. I consider it a pain reliever and fever reducer, and give it because I don't make it through a cold without taking something myself.

We use essential oils & steam. Usually works pretty good!

G caught her first cold this weekend as well. We used saline, sucked out her snot as much as we could, ran a cool mist humidifier, and a couple times a day sat in the bathroom with her while the shower ran and steamed up the room. We also elevated one end of her crib just a teensy bit (used some thin coffee table books to prop it up about an inch) because laying flat made it worse. No Tylenol, because she wasn't running a fever.

We're on day three of it and it seems to be much better every day, though it sucks to hear her so stuffed up. I sent her back to daycare today and haven't been called yet, so that's good!

Just suck her nose out as often as you can and use a humidifier at night is all we do for a cold. I only give Tylenol if she has a fever.

Hope K feels better soon!

I give Tylenol only if LO seems fevered or in any discomfort. Right now we are battling a cold and I give her saline drops and put a boiling pot of water with vicks in it in her room. Hope your LO feels better soon!

So I think K caught DH's cold or whatever he has, and is starting to get sick for the very first time. Woke up a bunch of times last night, and woke up really congested and stuffy for the first time ever! So now I know how people can tell - her breathing sounds pretty bad. :( She fights me tooth and nail when I'm trying to use the NoseFrida - but AMAZED when I saw all this stuff come out! Seems like I have to try and use it every 20-30 min. or her breathing sounds all stuffy again. We use the humidifier. And I used the saline drops this morning (and that was a hard-fought battle!) What else can I do?

Do you give baby Tylenol for congestion or colds?
