Also, do you have any plans to have more kids? I would personally give it more than 14 months PP. It sounds like you have lost the weight (great job) but it still may take a lot of time for skin to shrink and stuff to go back to normal. I would say the earliest I would consider surgery would be when I was at least 2-2.5years PP.

@shopaholic: thanks! I am waiting a few months to see if time will help. I don't expect to look exactly like I looked before, but hopefully things improve on their own.

@FancyGem: Wow! What a backhanded compliment! Never mind her!

I don't know what Smart Lipo is, but I am all about doing whatever you want to do to make yourself feel better about yourself (as long as it's pretty safe and healthy!)

Girl, you're gorgeous! Ignore that (obviously) stupid person's comments. I think if you really feel uncomfortable with your stomach you should do the consult, but just remember that plenty of people think you look amazing right now. :)

@edelweiss: thank you. My husband doesn't think I need it, but if it is still an issue for me he agreed to go for a consult in a few months.

Maybe I'm just being emotional and impatient. I forgot to mention that my baby is about 14 months old.

i don't know who this "someone" is, but that is a weird, jacked up thing to say.

anyway, my friend, who sounds similar to you (works out a lot, eats healthy, is fit and trim, etc.) went in for a lipo consult for a spot of fat/tissue on her lower abdomen that drove her crazy. she ultimately decided not to go through with the procedure because the lipo doctor told her that the chances of the fat/tissue returning were high enough that lipo may not be worth it.

i can empathize with where you're coming from, and if it's important, then go for the consult and see what they say.

although fwiw, i bet you are hhaawwwttt, totally don't need the procedure, and that most women would kill for your body.

@blackbird: thanks for the info. I am researching local doctors. I'll wait a few months before trying it.

I had smart lipo done probably 5 years ago? I had a very teeny pocket of fat that was unevenly distributed. It was so strange and it was just a slight contouring method. I had a teeny amount of fat removed and was awake for the procedure. You'll only know if you're a good candidate for it by getting a consult. I was really glad I had it done, though!

No experience with lipo, but if someone "told me I looked great and if I tightened my stomach I'd look fine," I would be livid! That says way more about the person who would say such a thing than about you. I'm sure you're gorgeous!!

Hi,
My stomach is finally shaping up. I feel my core strengthening and my upper abs are beginning to show. However, my lower stomach looks like a deflated tire. It is flab and hangs low. It is strinking slowly, but I am sad to say that it has impacted my self esteem. I workout hard and I've dieted and lost little weight since last year. I am two dress sizes smaller, but when I wear pants it highlights my stomach flab. I've tried buying different clothes and sizes, but my body is in a weird place right now.
The other day someone told me that I looked great, and if I tightened my stomach I would look fine. I normally don't cry, but I cried to my husband about it. I was naturally thin and could wear anything without worrying about hiding flaws. Now, I am sad about it. I'm thinking about trying smart lipo. Anyone tried it or anything else?
