@wheres_c: be prepared that if you insert too fast and/or in the wrong direction, it may hurt. if I do it the right way and slowly she could care less, but the one time it went in at an angle she screamed bloody murder (so sad!!) and there was a little bit of blood in her diaper :( I usually let her watch mickey mouse while I do it.

@wheres_c: we have wicked constipation issues. i bought pediatric suppositories per my doctor, they were behind the counter at the pharmacy (CVS). I cut them in half the long way, lube them up (water-based lube, like KY jelly) and push it slowly. that's only when she seriously hasn't gone. prunes, prune juice haven't worked for us anymore so the ped just started her on miralax daily to keep her regular. so far so good!

@Freckles: yeah I'm going to keep an eye on it. He drank a ton of juice so I know that was the reason....but going to hold the juice and see what happens.

I'd also lay off the prune juice for a while. I think my pediatrician told me i should be concerned if LO alternates constipation and diarrhea. It seems like in this case it's triggered by the juice,

I know how sucky constipation can be! Hope you figure things out soon.

Sound like the prune juice took a while to do it's thing, and now it's really doing it. I'm with you, lay off the prune juice for a bit

Our 5 mo has been struggling with constipation, and our pediatrician has us giving him prune juice mixed with water daily.

His constipation has gotten worse in the last two weeks, so I upped the prune juice at the advice of our ped.
Well today we went from pooping rocks, to squirting liquid mud.

It is everywhere...the crib, the changing table, ugh!

Hopefully it was just a one-off. I'm going to skip the juice and call the pediatrician if its not better in the morning.

Anyone else have to deal with constipation? Or diarrhea?
