It is very long, but surprisingly maneuverable. It handles going over grass and rough ground well. On the rare occasions that my 40lb 3yo gets a ride, it is a little harder to handle, but two 25lb toddlers is no problem. The basket is great, it folds and brakes easily, and the carseat adapter is simple. I bought the Contours after borrowing a friend's City Select for the weekend. I liked the City Select but went with the Contours because you don't have to take a seat off to fold it.<br /> However, of the three strollers, I probably use it the least. I find side by side strollers easier to manage and my kids get along better in the side by side. I think I've used it three times and DH only used it once. I'm keeping my baby in the ergo and DD in a single. Baby is just turning 1 and LO1 is 3. I'm hanging onto the Contours in case LO2 refuses to be worn once he walks I'm not looking forward to it. We'd probably take two single strollers if both kids needed to sit but DH and I both WOH. It's smaller in length and width than most of the tandem doubles. Since now I own both, I can see the pros and cons. My son has been on an anti-car seat and stroller kick when he is fussy so I actually had to babywear him for half the time we were at the zoo. So having the twins conveniently side by side really didn't happen. My sister said her son had a phase around 8/9 months that he hated the stroller. I think I'm still going to keep the indie twin for now. I almost always just put the kids in a cart at the grocery store or target, and walks in our neighborhood are on the side of the road (not sidewalk), so the issue you mentioned hasn't come up for us really :) The few times we have been in a crowded place with the stroller and confined to a sidewalk though (festivals downtown) I have definitely had that issue. Oh, and trying to get to through the Boston aquarium last summer was a nightmare! I just figured it would have been that way regardless, but it probably would have been easier with a tandem. I wanted something narrow enough to get through the crowds and I didn't want to worry about fitting through doors. I did recently find an amazing deal on a display model for the Bumbleride indi twin (side by side) stroller. I thought it was a perfect time to get it before our planned zoo trip this past weekend. The bumbleride is lighter than the City select but in all honesty, I still prefer my City Select. I found pushing a side by side stroller to be more annoying because it took up the entire sidewalk. I would have to wait for people to clear the sidewalk before I could move. We actually got the Contours delivered to our home but when I went home for my baby shower, my brother gave me his City Select. I am so grateful that he did it. We returned the Contours. When I tried both strollers in Buy Buy Baby, the City Select was definitely smoother and easier to maneuver. I also didn't like the idea of having to remove a seat to put it in my trunk.
