I had lots of these this time with my second LO. I had lots of BH last time with my first LO but these were a bit more painful. There was something different about them that I knew it wasn't real labor (though I was happy it was my second because I think I would have been convinced it was real labor). They did cause progress and labor went a lot quicker this time than last time, so I think the pre-labor contractions did something for me. Best wishes for you and baby!

I had tons of contractions for weeks, BH and otherwise. but I had a good idea when it was real because they were closer together (3-4m) and stayed that way. it was exciting to get that moment to call my husband and our doula!

of course I thought 3-4m apart meant I was moving fast but I had the baby 18 hours after timing that so not so much . . .

3 weeks. I had stupid nightly episodes of contractions fo three freaking weeks before I had my second. Every night I would walk on the treadmill, trying to turn those BHs into something more, and every single night the contractions would stop about an hour after I stopped walking. Finally, at 38 week, 6 days I just gave up and laid in bed the whole night, totally defeated and thinking I would be pregnant forever. I went into labor the next morning and had DS that night!

Try to rest as much as possilbe; you're almost there! Remember that it's physically impossible to be pregnant forever, and your baby will come out soon!

I had lots of bh contractions with my firsts(twins) but nothing painful till my waterbroke. Second time I had bh for weeks and painful contractions for two weeks until I delivered at 39 weeks. I think I let it go a little far since I barely made it to the hospital but much like you they were never really consistent until right before. I went from cobtractions ever few minutes at home which weren't so bad to really being uncomfortable in the drive to hospital. I woke at 2:30 am, told hubs to take a shower since I thought this was it and that it would take awhile. We left for hospital at 3:30am and luckily we had slept over my in laws which is an hour closer than we are. My hubs parked the car at 3:51 am and I delivered at 4:53am. Painful but quick, so fast the doc on call didn't make it.

Same. Didn't feel BH or actual contractions until the day I went into labor with my first. This time around I felt the BH starting in the second trimester. I had actual contractions around week 36 and had them daily until I went into labor naturally at 39 weeks + 1 day. I had a pretty fast labor -- less than 4 hours from start to finish. I started having painful contractions less than 5 minutes apart from the get go. By the time I arrived at the hospital I was already 8cm!! I think the early signs of contractions means your body is getting ready in advance, and you might have a faster labor.

Sorry to tell you this my friend, but I did that every night for a solid week before they induced me with S. Although, on the bright side, I probably would have gone on my own a day or two later.

I had "prodromal labor" pretty consistently for 5 days before my water broke at 41 days. If I could do it again, I would have asked to be induced earlier on, rather than suffer through that!

I might be a little jealous if this it for you! I've had way more pressure and BH in the last few months of this pregnancy than I ever had with my previous ones, but tonight, the eve of my EDD, all is quiet on the labor front.

So exciting for both of you!!!

I had contractions from 28 weeks on, it was so hard knowing when to go in and when to stay home. There were so many times that they'd last for hours and then peter out. When I told my husband I thought it was time, he doubted me, and truthfully I doubted myself too. We were stunned when they admitted me, then 2 hours later my water broke (third times a charm, it was broken by the dr the first 2 times!)

@Rainbow Sprinkles: Oh yes. Didn't sleep well for days cause the contractions would be 6 minutes apart and then stop. So annoying!! I did go into labor naturally a day before my due date. I was convinced I was not in labor for quite a bit cause I was waiting for them to stop. The night before I went into labor I was doing squats and walking Target like a crazy lady, lol.

My third was like that for weeks. I would get to 5 minutes apart and lasting 45 seconds for hours, but then they would die off. When I got to the hospital though I was already 7cm, so I thought they helped my body gear up!

I didn't have a single contraction or BH contraction with my last pregnancy. I felt NOTHING until I got induced.

This time, I have had BH like crazy, and lots of real contractions the last week or two. The past three days I have had instances where I thought I was in labor because the contractions are incredibly painful and regular for about an hour (give or take), but then they DISAPPEAR!!!

As of now, my contractions have been about 6-7 minutes apart for 30 minutes. I get a glimmer of hope, but then they'll just go way.

I feel defeated! Did this happen to anyone else?
