@NurseMommy: I was only able to get it cause it was on sale on Amaxon (pink) for $287 which was still a lot. But we got our NextFit for a steal at $140.

@loveisstrange: The RF limits are 50 lbs for the Clek vs. the Graco's 40 lbs. I went by the weight limit here because it didn't sound like height would be a factor in her case.

The Foonf is not the highest rear-facing limit, the Graco My Size/Headwise/Size4Me is. We have one and it's fantastic. It fits perfect in my CRV. Plus, it cost us $150.

Honestly, no need to spend $400. We looked at the Graco, the Radian and the NextFit. We bought the Graco.

We have the Diono Radian RXT and love it! It's got a high rear facing weight and height limit plus it converts from front facing harness to a booster. It's got a slim profile which I found very helpful in our small SUV (Lexus RX350) - whether installed in center or side, other passengers next to the seat have no problem buckling their seatbelt. My friend has the Britax and its wide base made it difficult for one of the rear passengers to buckle up when placed in the center.

@NurseMommy: It's definitely expensive. That's the biggest downside. It does go on sale sometimes (it was $287 on Amazon recently), but it's never cheap. You could use a coupon at BBB or albeebaby if you decided to go for it. I wouldn't buy it without trying it though since it's such an investment.

We just installed our Foonf yesterday and, so far, dd loves it. She spent all her time in the car today just staring out the window...something she'd never been able to do in her infant seat.

Another Nextfit here. So far I love it...and got an amazing deal on it a couple weeks ago thanks to a fantastic bee that posted about a deal from Target! LO loves his new seat and @wonderstruck: has listed the features I was going to list quite nicely. It is SO easy to install....love it!

We have a Nextfit and I love it! The main things for me were being able to erf, having a well-rated seat with side protection too, and being able to easily move it from one car to another. It meets all my requirements with flying colors, I seriously can't get over how easy it is to install. We have the newer version of it with removable shoulder pads and haven't had any problems tightening it, but it does seem to be a common complaint with the original version.

The other top 3 on my list were the Foonf (but it was wayyyy too expensive), the Diono Radian (but we would've needed an angle adjuster to install it and it was a pain, so it failed that part of my test), and the Britax Boulevard or Advocate )but the Nextfit was easier to install and rear faces longer.)

Another vote for the Foonf. We love ours. It has the highest RF weight limit and fit the best in our car. It's also the only carseat DD didn't scream in

@NurseMommy: check out the facebook group carseats for littles - you can tell them your budget and specs and they will offer recommendations.
I got some recommendations, and I'm going to go try a few out at a local store before I buy. We're looking most closely at getting a maxi cosi for my car (which we use the most) and then one of the britax cheaper models (like in the 150 range I think it was) for the lesser used car.

We really like our Diono! (We only started using it a week ago though so not a ton of experience). We also got a Graco Headwise as our backup - I like it too! But there's the whole deal with their recall right now so I don't know if they're available. Have you asked the fb group carseats for the littles - they recommended seats for us!

Just noticed that dd is getting close to outgrowing her infant car seat so thought I should start doing some research. We plan on ERF, have a Rav4, and dd is short. What do you have/recommend?
