Can you put it in the middle?

DH has a CX5 and is 6'2. It was actually easier installing the Graco 4ever in my corolla than in his car! Our son is still in the center of the back seat, so it's not too bad (or maybe I've just gotten used to it?)

But I was shocked how difficult it was to wiggle that seat in his car!

We have the Safety 1st grow and go in my Subaru Imprezza. DH is 6'2" and was just able to squeeze into the passenger seat.

The Nuna Rava is pretty awesome space-wise.

We have a Graco Size4Me in our CX-5 and DH can't ride in the passenger seat. The CX-5 has such a small cabin. My Mazda 6 sedan has more passenger room front to back. I wanted to trade in my 6 for a CX-5 with AWD... but I'm waiting until we flip my daughter. 5 more pounds!

We also have the Britax Advocate CT. My husband is 6'3" and its decent for us. We also drive larger vehicles. If you're going to place it in the middle of the vehicle, you'll get more leg room up front. However, I would specifically not recommend the Advocate because it has giant side impact protection. The Boulevard or the Marathon appear to be more slim and would allow both front seats to slide back further, in theory.

We have the cosco scenera next and I like it... Regularly install in ubers/lyfts - which is very straightforward - and rarely have to ask for the passenger seat to be moved forward. LO is rear facing and will be for awhile...

The 4ever works decently in our Chevy Cruze. I find Chevy’s prioritize trunk space for back seat space so I feel our backseat is very small. Smaller than my brother’s Honda Civic. It’s better than our Diono RXT (with the angle adjuster). But it’s only maybe 1” difference. But it does touch the headrest when my 6’2” husband drives. I’m 5’2” and get maybe 1.5” space between the back seat and the headrest.

The thing about the 4ever is that it can adjust somewhat (3 angles for RF I think), but it still needs to be leveled so for our seats we can’t use the most upright position because it’s unsafe. So maybe try it first if possible?

Our Britax Advocate Clicktight fit fine rear-facing in our Honda Civic, but we had it in the center position, which gave it a bit more space. Also, neither my husband nor I are very tall. It was kind of annoying when we had tall friends ride with us because they would try to move the passenger seat back and I’d have to tell them they couldn’t because of the car seat.

The chicco nextfit isn’t terrible front to back- my friend had that same car and it fit ok. But it’s heavy and wide and I much prefer the britax clicktight installation.

The graco extend 2 fit and the cosco scenera next are the two most compact seats front to back. The Graco will last much longer but is very wide and has a challenging install if you forward face before 40 pounds. The cosco seat is almost always outgrown forward facing before rear facing, so it's essentially a rear facing only seat.

Other very compact seats are the Nuna Rava and the britax clicktight convertibles.

I have two graco 4evers and while they are relatively compact, all of the ones I've listed are a bit more compact, especially the first two.

We have a Clek Fllo in a Mazda CX-5 rear-facing... and it takes up so much of the front passenger's room, it's awful. Does anyone have the same car and have a seat that fits better, or know of one that does? I've been told the Graco 4Ever is the best for front-to-back room... anyone have that seat and have any opinions? We need our leg room back!
